My gosh, it's unbelievable how 3D it sounds. It's practically jumping through my speakers

Well, there aren't any bugs that make it completely unusable. At least one beta tester seems happy
My main concern are things that may cause sound changes between now and the final version. I want the sound to be as final as possible, even if a few editing tools remain sluggish. Such as, guide curves that have loop points (they do not need them).

That's important... no matter what disclaimer you make when posting a public beta, some users will start using Zebralette 3 in projects and then complain when their presets no longer sound the same.Urs wrote: Wed Feb 07, 2024 9:26 pm My main concern are things that may cause sound changes between now and the final version. Would it be an option to give Zebralette 3 Beta a different plugin ID? At least then you can keep the beta in the projects as it is and once Zebralette 3 is stable, you need to consciously replace it?Urs wrote: Wed Feb 07, 2024 9:26 pm Well, there aren't any bugs that make it completely unusable. Yeah, Zebralette 3 sounds awesome. It has beautifully sharp and coherent attack transients without harshness or brittleness. And the sound overall is dynamic and present. That sense of it jumping out of the speakers is what I hear too. And I'm not putting in effort to get that. I've paid $5-600 for a eurorack oscillator to get this kind of clear, coherent sound... and that has no polyphony. I'm thrilled with the Z3 Oscillator!Shiek927 wrote: Wed Feb 07, 2024 7:45 pm My gosh, it's unbelievable how 3D it sounds. It's practically jumping through my speakers

Two things keep going through my mind… 1) we’re really only hearing sound demos from one of the many talented people using the beta and 2) if this is just one oscillator and one MSEG… wtf is full Zebra 3 going to do to us.

Zebra 3 may be the synth of the year 2024
(Avenger 2 was the synth of 2023 he he).

This would only make sense if the plug-in was still supported further down the road. That's not an option.Fannon wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 6:02 am Would it be an option to give Zebralette 3 Beta a different plugin ID?
And also, there'd be confusion with people who overlook the conceptual twist and wonder why they suddenly have two of the same plug-ins... I think that'd even be worse than a few people having to adjust a few parameters that change range.
To be clear, I don't think there'll be any fundamental change in sound. There'll only be changes in the range of some parameters, and maybe a few parameters or options added or removed.

Will old presets still work within Zebralette 3? I do not like it when this is not possible within updates (for exemple as Massive became Massive X).

Massive didn't 'become' Massive, MassiveX its a totally new synth that just shares a name- Massive is still sold and supported as a stand alone product, so you just use that for your old pre-sets.gonzomaster wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 3:25 pm Will old presets still work within Zebralette 3? X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

It's a completely new synth, written from the ground up.gonzomaster wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 3:25 pm Will old presets still work within Zebralette 3? I do not like it when this is not possible within updates (for exemple as Massive became Massive X).
Old and new install separately and run side by side.

So to say… It is Zebralette X without possibility to use old presets… (This is a pity, but I am nevertheless looking forward to the release… Is it possible to get a news per newsletter if beta is released?)

We did send newsletters for public betas in the past, but not always. This time sounds like a good idea though, I'll raise the idea with the team.gonzomaster wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 4:19 pm So to say… It is Zebralette X without possibility to use old presets… (This is a pity, but I am nevertheless looking forward to the release… Is it possible to get a news per newsletter if beta is released?)
In any case, signing up for our newsletter is generally a great idea
