Well, I actually wanted to propose Vegas Edit, but, it has been a while since you could get it for 20 € on Humble Bundle.
Vegas was on my short list, but yes, thnbgs are Resolve'd now (loooool)!

Next up: save $400 for the Speed Editor, which comes with Resolve Studio. And seeing if I can load the Visual Synthesizer plugin into the Fairlight portion of Resolve.

There goes my money and time for the rest of the year! :help:

Glad I don't have a girlfriend... :scared: :scared:

IIRC one of the drawbacks of the Speed Editor (unless it has been changed since initial release), was that the numerous 'camera selection' buttons could not be reassigned, limiting what can be accomplished 'speedily' on the "editing" page.

Unlike this:

FYI, Reaper has very basic video editing capabilities built into the DAW.

You gotta include the goofy slide whistle sound.

First: yeah, that Shuttle looks good and will work now (apparently). Another Sweetwater purchase!

FYI: Yes, Resolve recognizes Visual Synthesizer and loads it! Haven't worked it hard but it seems operational and the two GUIs don't step on each other. It also recognizes Master Mix! More work required, but this is positive.. Resolve is taking over things... :-o :wheee: :nutter:

Hitfilm Free is an alternative, it's kinda like a budget After Effects program.

Already commuted to Resolve, too late! And I'm exceptionally happy with it, reminds me of Nuke in the node-based stuff and AE in the timelines. Tons of effects, of plugins, and the free version will do me for ages. Working in nodes reminds me of (shudder) learnng Houdini, byt Resolve is easier (hehm rocket science is easier than Houdini).

Zero complaints and zero interest in changing up. Thanks for posting, though, I'm sure other folks dropping in would like alternatives to research! :)

Resolve doesn't have near as many presets for titles and prefab things, ways to dissolve etc, or have elements of it regularly updated by Apple as FCPX does. I really like some of those title animations. I made one video without it and it suffered as far as the cool end titles etc thing I tend to do. I'm a neophyte, I don't tend to work down to the lower level creating those things myself.

So FCPX as an editor in the creative areas has a lot going on Resolve hasn't {the UI for controlling animations is really good and simple to use} that I use but costs like 400 bucks, you know. Resolve is pretty dry/straightforward, serious bidness by comparison. I came across it looking for a way to get full PCM audio (ie., 24-bit; it now does 32-bit) in videos (Youtube recommends AAC but I feel safer giving it 24-bit to f**k over); FCPX's audio at least as per music is atrocious, I don't know why. but as soon as you add the music track it's very noticeable, and renders with shitty sound as far as music IME.

I'd rather suck off King Kong than ever own a Mac.

I worked for a company called Taligent that was an Apple/IBM/Microsoft collab, in Cupertino CA., and Imet Jobs when he came over to tell us all we were idiots.

Apple can burn in the uttermost pits of nonlife oblivion for all eternity. I'll do without a computer before I own anything Apple. FCP can have wild anal sex with a prickly pear cactus.

I think that covers it all. :D :hihi: :idiot: :smack: :tantrum:

I wish the video effects in Resolve worked in realtime and could record my webcam.
