This update fixes a couple of issues with (un)folding the top controls when switching between front panel and modular area / polysynth.
Link still shows 9.5.3

Love the new header, even though I prefer to see the other info.
Not sure if everyone agrees, but, wouldn't it be better to not move those buttons (On/Off and Settings) from the Header to Title Bar, but just keep them on the Title Bar permanently? As they're only small and look quite neat up there, it just provides consistency.

Make it a global option setting, to have it unfolded or not.

+1
Its perfect where its at. Completely unobtrusive in the border up there. And it reminds you that that is an action spot, when presets and panels and stuff are an option. I agree, the header looks great folded like this.

Thanks for the tip. I wasn't having issues with it, just reporting that I prefer not to fold it up.
Just my opinion that I would prefer the buttons to stay on the Title Bar rather than jump to and fro depending on whether the Header was open or closed.

MuLab App 9.5.5 beta for Windows 64 bit is available on https://www.mutools.com/mulab/app/lates ... /beta.html

What's changed:
  • The module on/off led and options buttons now always are in the module/plugin title bar, folded or not.
  • When MUX editor top controls are unfolded and when stepping thru presets, the top controls could fold on loading another preset, which made it unhandy to step thru presets. Fixed.
  • Now there are separate preferences regarding default folding of top controls for MUX Front Panels and for Plugin Editors.
  • Other small improvements.

Excellent! Thank you :tu:

I've had more time lately to mess about with MuLab and had great time yesterday! Spent 8-10 hours on several tracks. MuLab is so damned easy to use, only some minor things could do with being changed/updated, but otherwise this is one amazing app! Thank you Jo for sticking at it all these years I don't believe I could do what I do in MuLab in any other software as quickly and easily. Considering I haven't really had much time with it until very recently, it shows how well thought out everything is. Great job!

Excellent! This feels much more natural, especially when using plugins. Thanks Jo :tu:

The folding of top controls preference for MUX front panels works great for factory content, but appears not to work for user content. Mine always open initially with the top controls unfolded regardless of the preferences setting.

Post

Are you talking about newly saved presets?
Note that the folding is saved per MUX / plugin.
The default is only used for new patches and for pre M9.5 patches.

All my patches are pre M9.5 and they all load unfolded regardless of the setting. The most recent was saved in M9.1, most were much earlier from 2020-2022.
If I resave them with folded menus in M9.5.5 they stay folded.

When you open a MUX preset in an existing MUX editor then the folding is preserved.
It's only when you create/open a new MUX preset and there is no way for MuLab to know whether you want it folded or not, only then the default is used.

For example: When you drop a MUX preset on an existing MUX editor, the existing folding is preserved. When you drop a MUX preset on eg an empty rack slot, and the MUX preset is pre M9.5 then the default will be used.

Does that explain it?

Post

I understand, but that is not what is happening.
When I drop a Mux preset on an empty slot, and the MUX preset is pre M9.5 - If it is from the factory presets it follows the default, but if it is from my user folder it does not, these always open unfolded.
I don't think its that important really, just not as expected.

Post

Are you talking about a MUX that opens with the modular editor?
Note that the MUX modular editor always defaults to unfolded.
The preference we're talking about ("Fold MUX Front Panel Top Controls") is only about MUX front panels.
Does that explain it?

Same thing noticed, Preferences>Fold MUX front panels top controls > ON
So I expected when load any MUX, this load with folded controls, right?, well no.

Ok, i first couldn't repeat it, but can now repeat it with another preset. Researching it...
