The dialog doesn't appear after pressing "pay". It appears after pressing "buy", and before pressing "pay".

Whatever the button was named, I never had the choice even to fill in a code anywhere

It was not like the two boxes side by side seen on your clip

The left box you show I never came by at any point

Might be a Europe thing. When I enter my email address and country, the only option I get is 'Continue' which goes to payment by card or Pay Pal - no option for vouchers.

I'm from Europe too. From Germany to be exact. I see the option for vouchers. Can you post a screenshot of the popup that appears when you click "buy"?

No opportunity to type in the code before hitting the PAY button

There's "Add Discount" text on the left side of the popup, click on that and enter code.

This (in bold) was the correct answer for me.

Somehow I didn't see it at first glance, same that happened to HM and others here, and went on into the PAY menu, which made me full stop.

On a careful 2nd revision the green words of "Add discount" were there at the left of the same pop-up where adding email is required.
Completed the operation by entering the THEHIMFAMILY code plus clicked "Apply", and now I am into this novel (to me) company https://dsp.thehim.com/

I feel like such an idiot. I totally missed that the "Add discount" text was a button which opened the voucher box. The way these things usually work, your eyes look for an editable text field box for the voucher - so it was fairly hidden. Seems to have caught other people too. Whoops
