Just an idea here, taken from how Atlas 2 does it: Since how the channels are assigned changes from kit to kit, you could extract the pattern per channel, based on which type of sound it was assigned with. Then you could offer (maybe first just via random) adding the sound corresponding pattern per channel.wave alchemy wrote: Fri Feb 16, 2024 2:46 pm We have around 715 well made patterns within Triaz across 18 genres with tagging already. We plan to add kit locking at some point, so that you can lock the kit and sound parameters and change, randomize, browse presets (patterns) via genre tagging etc. That will give you exactly what you asked.
The reason why we don't offer a pattern browser is because the channels are fully modular. So, say you made a beat that has a kick on channel 3, and snare on channel; 4, then you loaded a pattern that had the Kick on channel 1, and snare on 4, its going to sound wrong, and you'd be better off simply using the sequencer randomization features we will be adding which will be far more powerful and useful![]()
The other option would have been to fix the channels like some drum machines do, and not have them modular, so kick is always channel 1, perc on 2, snare on 3 etc. But I personally hate that type of design and it vastly limits the plugin potential in many other areas![]()
For the entire kit it will be difficult, but I did notice that the Triaz Kits have an underlying, somewhat stable kit pattern. E.g. kick, HH Open, HH Closed, Crash, Ride, Tom, Clap, Snare are somewhat "stable" in how they are assigned.
Btw. I'm really glad about this, because I play Triaz with pad controllers (Maschine Mk3 and Yamaha FGDP-50), which works quite well. I was a bit surprised that this isn't documented (e.g. in the Manual), as I think new kits / presets would greatly benefit from sticking to this "default layout" as far as it makes sense.
