Hi, sorry for the long post, but there's no other way. 20 December in 2016 I bought an Altiverb 7 XL license from a dannyfm member for 450USD. When I recently wanted to upgrade to the Alviverb 8 XL Audioease support told me that my license was never intended for sale and whoever sold it to me must have known I was being scammed. Unfortunately, the license was not marked as NFR on the iLok and there was nothing preventing the license transfer. Audioease acknowledged that it had made a mistake in not marking the license as NFR, but refused to provide me with an upgrade.
Finally, Audioease support and I agreed that I would post a warning to all buyers to verify that the copy was legal. I quote the communication with support:

I have thought about this a while. What I conclude is this: you have purchased a second hand copy for 50% of the price. That's too low, you should have known it's worth more. On top of that you did not check with us whether the copy was legit. Those are two errors you made. We also made an error. We gave a non expiring Not For Resale to someone. We should not be doing that, it is asking for abuse.
I would like you to warn people on that forum. Start a thread where you tell that most companies allow selling plug-ins, but they need to be included in the transaction to transfer ownership, and check whether the copy is legit. Tell them you got screwed. Because you did, it's not lying just because i make it up to you. You don't need to mention us or Altiverb, but you can.
When you have done that, and you show me the thread, i will unlock your copy so you can upgrade it.
