Zebralette Zebralette 3

Huge thanks to UHE - this is an extremely generous gift of an instrument to the community and it sounds absolutely sublime :) the sonic possibilities are huge -congratulations to all of the team

To save any others searching time it doesn't currently support CLAP poly modulation - I couldn't work out why wasn't working then went to bugs to see it listed as a non working feature currently

The other one - please do take the warning on the front page seriously I didn't (as difficult in Bitwig without a paid solution - certainly for a fast reacting mute anyway) and had some sort of glitch/crash (no idea why as I'd been using the same patch I'd created for 10 mins without problems) and suddenly I had a very high pitched (8-10khz or so) very loud short sharp burst of audio (ouch) through my speakers (thankfully not headphones) and then no audio from Bitwig. No criticism just warning others to heed the warning.

Thanks again to all those at UHE. As a Zebra 2/HZ owner it makes me look forward to Zebra 3 even more - but this will give plenty of possibilities in the meantime :)

The exported wavetable is sample based. The internal waveform format of Zebralette is based on cubic Bézier curves. The information of the things you can edit is lost when exporting to .wav - and they can not be retrieved without loss.

You can however drag the .wav file on the editor and hope for the best. As I explain in several videos, this is a bit hit and miss.

That said, there is no equivalent of .wav for the kind of curve based forms. There is no standard. We support .svg as the next best thing for single curves. We will eventually support export and import of .uhm for the whole curve set, but that wasn't/isn't a priority.

Well, cpu usage was my first noticable problem but setting ASIO to a certain level of SAFE :D it gave me a wow on how it can sound!

Is there a way to assign the record button to a MIDI note, like you can assign the play button?

We haven't made any, but I guess the final version might have module presets with wavetables and envelopes. Not sure.
Yeah, module presets make sense with Z2 having long had OSC Module presets. I think that same paradigm fits here nicely. It would also encourage folks to take their Zebralette 3 creations into Zebra 3 in the future for more features.

I personally couldn't see myself wanting to load traditional wavetables into ZL3 or Z3. That feels more like Hive territory. But I can relate to the desire to play around with OSC FX on existing wavetables so I don't begrudge anyone for asking. OSC FX for Hive perhaps? :hihi:

Will the release version of Zebralette3 support exporting to WAV with spectral effects and modulation (similar to how it's done in Zebra2)? I noticed this is specifically mentioned in the original post and in the manual, so not including this functionality is intentional. I just don't see why.

cool beta thanks. Is it possible to add a modulator for the delay and make a choice of time delay?
