Right click and copy of the curve is a text in the clipboard which you can paste into a text editor. This is new uhm stuff that is not yet available in Hive. But it will be once Zebralette is final and Hive updated with it.bnz wrote: Sat Feb 17, 2024 8:09 pm Amazing piece of software. I think I remember some mentioning of zebralette 3 being able to export to uhm hive formulas. This isn't included yet, right? Or am I maybe missing it among the features? When it comes, I think the reverse, a formula import would be nice as well.
Suggestion: it would be nice if there was a cursor in the osc editor timeline that visualizes where the current curph morph position is.

I wasn't aware of that. Thank you for pointing it out!tasmaniandevil wrote: Sat Feb 17, 2024 1:10 pmDiva and Filterscape already include the same fix. All other plugins will also include that fix and work better in Renoise with their next updates.bonch wrote: Sat Feb 17, 2024 9:07 am In Renoise, menu-based controls work properly without having to check "Enable Keyboard." Neat! This is unlike other U-he plug-ins where menu items can be selected but do nothing unless "Enable Keyboard" is checked.

While my wife loves beaches and stuff, I quickly get bored there. As long as I manage to read a book and get fed great food, I'll happily check in with you guys.glokraw wrote: Sun Feb 18, 2024 1:33 amI was just going to ask about that phantom vacation! Mail your laptop back to headquarters, ...now.

After all, releasing a *new* software - something we haven't done since Twangström, which was 5 (!!!) years ago - is probably the most exciting part of my line of work.

Very impressive - the presets sound excellent; the UI looks great, is clearly and logically laid out and has some interesting/unique features; and the CPU usage on my Ryzen 7 laptop is very low!

This is awesome! Unlike the album, the "Chinese Democracy of soft-synths" seems like it'll be well worth the wait.
Having a dedicated thread for sharing patches would be really helpful to see what tricks others are figuring out, but I'll leave that to U-He's discretion...
One area completely absent from U-He synths I hope changes with Zebra3 is parameter randomization. This can be really powerful (not to mention fun), especially when each section can be randomized individually.
Melda's "smart randomization" is the best implementation as it limits the parameter ranges to those most likely to be "musical" by basing them on the existing presets. The results are often pleasantly surprising and instructive. It's easy to do with Reaper scripts, but I always prefer when it's built in.
I'm sure a lot of users will find satisfaction in tweaking the wavetable editor for 3 hours and not recording a note of music, but if a few "rolls of the dice" can come up with something equally unique in seconds it frees up time for the rest of the creative process.
No matter how intuitive Zebra3 becomes a majority of users will barely scratch the surface, be intimidated when they do, and mostly rely on presets. Randomization is sound design for non sound designers (we can't all be Howard Scarr or Richard Devine
.)

Great mix of superb presets with weird stuff. Very capable.
Some feedback after 1h play. No crash. Pure fun.
- curve editor is great, but I find to add a point I have to first curve a straight line then double click. Somehow unintuitive. How about using ctrl/cmd ?
- in the delay section, I would switch the LP HP positions. Because HP controls the lows so goes left, LP controls the highs so goes right
- when saving user presets there is no option to choose category
- for OSC FX drop-down menus, perhaps add a left/right arrow on the blue rectangle where the name is for fast cycling through
- re CPU I noticed moving from Curve Geometry to Curve Spectrum can dramatically increase it.
- there was a presets button for MSEG in Zebralette 2, can't see presets in this new version
- in the settings the Gamma option does not seem to modify the GUI color. Doesn't work on Win 10 Cubase pro 12.
It's fun to start from init and build our own patches, perhaps less complex than it might seem so great job on the UI and sound.
Happy Holidays Urs and wife and thanks for the fun!

PS : KUDOS for offering the option to CHOOSE the data path !!
I wish every plugin manufacturer does that, then we can keep all our presets OUT of the C drive and stored nicely on an external SSD for easy backup and recovery.

That's a great idea! I'd contribute, too. But right now I'm on vacation with no access to a decent maschine.AtomOfScent wrote: Sun Feb 18, 2024 3:58 am Having a dedicated thread for sharing patches would be really helpful to see what tricks others are figuring out, but I'll leave that to U-He's discretion...

Expandable envelope editor is vertically too small. So much dead-space above and below.
Perhaps this is addressed in the thread, but it's too long and i don't have time to go through it all!
For example, i would almost never need the keyboard at the bottom, and don't need to see the matrix editor all the time. Can we get a button to close this and give us that vertical area for the envelope?
It would be great to have a value editor for the selected envelope point. Like the info line in Cubase, so if you click on a point, you can manually enter (or drag or mouse scroll) the x, y or rotation numerical value of a point. If multiple points are selected, the value box will show the values of the first selected point.
This doesn't need to take up much UI space.
I don't like the way UI scaling is implemented. It's the same as Minimal's Current synth and many other modern plugins. It's like scaling a photo in photoshop (grabbing a corner and dragging bigger). Check out Steinberg's Backbone, this is a better way to scale. So, editing areas get bigger, buttons and faders don't. Or some combination of the two would be better. So ideally you would have one % to tweak that would change UI elements size, and also be able to drag a corner so that the plugin gets bigger, editing areas get bigger, but elements stay the same size. Because this "photoshop" style scaling gives unnecessarily massive knobs, buttons and faders when you scale the plugin really big. It's like when you buy a 17" laptop, they don't make the computer keys bigger!
Sorry to be negative on this brand new baby, but this is supposed to be the synth of the future, so these things must be said before it's too late!
