Hi,
try'ing out the linux version of HIVE.
The install.sh script states:

Code: Select all

Dependencies
------------

You need xdg-open and trash-put to be in /usr/bin/.
I checked the usr/bin and while xdg-open is there, I'm missing the trash-put.

So, can I ignore this or where to get the trash-put command?

OS=manjaro

Ok, this test was not so successful. :D

Hive (VST and VST3) is crashing in Reaper and Ardour.
Message "ungültiger Maschinenbefehl".

So I guess the laptop is too old (non compatible CPU)?

Code: Select all

Arch: X86-64
Vendor: "GenuineIntel"
Model: 6.23.6 "Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8400 @ 2.26GHz"

Core 2 Duo sounds quite old.
The CPU needs to support SSE4.2, otherwise crashboombang.

Ok, hopefully there's a new laptop sittin' underneath the christmas tree... :)

There is some linux work ongoing to get SSE things working by kernel module...could be worth watching https://github.com/mirh/opemu-linux

Maybe as time allows, a list of your products and older version that will work in those numerous old machines, would be handy. With BlueCat and others making useful network audio i/o tools, such machines can still be useful in a variety of ways...arpeggiating/sequencing, rhythm/drum machines, ambience layers etc.
Cheers
