5 minutes into this - the waveform editor + mod is insanely responsive and fun, and it's so easy to make organic waveforms that just wiggle a bit.
It's by far the most powerful wavetable editor i've ever seen and GUI is incredible.
Great job and plenty of fun to be had with before Z3 comes.
I still wish there was a filter tho

Well, I've been missing out!Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 6:58 pmMore Oscillators, more modulators, filters, more fx, modular, etc. It's going to be pretty incredible.jbraner wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 4:43 pm I will admit that I've never tried Zebra 2 or Zebralette before. This synth is really cool!
I will play around more when I have time - and follow this thread. When the "full" Zebra 3 is ready - will it be like this but with more Oscillators? That's amazing because this is pretty cool as it is - with only the one!![]()
I don't know if this has been mentioned yet (I haven't read every post) but in Windows the default folder is different from, say, Diva and Repro.
Zebralette is installing to "My Documents\u-he\Zebralette3.data"
Diva is installing to "My Documents\Diva\Diva.data" and "My Documents\Diva\u-he"
Repro is the same (except Repro-1 instead of Diva) - so \u-he is under the synth name rather than right under my documents...
I'm pretty sure they're all installed to default directories.
Also - when you modulate a knob, you can hear it but you can't *see* anything - but this is probably because it's early beta.

I'm curious. Can you name synths that in your opinion have this "clear precise crystal glistening hi fi"?MystikDrift wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 7:18 pm how to explain other synths with clear precise crystal glistening hi fi ?

Over here, I've made a point of installing U-he plugins to their default Windows directories and they ALL went into:jbraner wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 9:08 pm I don't know if this has been mentioned yet (I haven't read every post) but in Windows the default folder is different from, say, Diva and Repro.

Documents\U-he\[plugin name]\
Not sure how you ended up with Documents\[Plugin Name]\ for others unless you changed it, or it's a holdover from some really old installer or something.

Congratulations on the release and thank you for the free gift.
I haven't tried Zebralette3 out yet but I installed it and what I noticed when I launched it, was that the UI is very bright and uses a lot of white an grey. I think that a bit more contrast in the waveform and envelope editors would be nice.

Oh well, I thought I just went with the defaults - sorry for the false alarm.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 9:20 pmOver here, I've made a point of installing U-he plugins to their default Windows directories and they ALL went into:jbraner wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 9:08 pm I don't know if this has been mentioned yet (I haven't read every post) but in Windows the default folder is different from, say, Diva and Repro.

Are you looking for animated knobs or some other Vital-style animated modulation? If yes, I don't think we're going to get that. I think the U-he position is that those types of things are distracting and only useful for slower modulations anyway.jbraner wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 9:08 pm Also - when you modulate a knob, you can hear it but you can't *see* anything - but this is probably because it's early beta.![]()
I'd probably look at how modulations are handled in Hive, including the scope, as an example of where I'd expect this to end up. But I don't speak for anyone at U-he, though I'm pretty sure this is what's been said elsehwere.

Well, there's a white band (on a knob) that shows the "amount" of modulation - so I would think there'd be something in there - like moving back and forth if it was a lfo doing the modulating... (?)

For me, it's incomprehensible how anyone can consider this GUI as good. The layout is indeed well done, but that's where the positives end. Regardless of size, all the knobs look extremely unpolished, not rendered at all? It's the worst resolution I've ever seen. The shadows on knobs, buttons, sliders, etc., look so flat without any depth or smoothness. And this cold, sterile white and grey choice of colors... horrible. I understand that this is a beta and a freeware product. I've already inquired whether this is the final GUI version but haven't received a response yet. If it is, please invest a bit more care into this GUI. I've never understood how u-he can show so much attention to detail in the sound of their products but do the exact opposite when it comes to their GUIs.

Thanks for the screenshots. And yes, it sounds and looks weird. Hopefully, this will get fixed in the next couple of iterations.Chris-S wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 6:43 pmSo, here is the waveform in the beginning:HcDoom wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 4:47 pm Ok, I exported supersaw from Zebralette 3 - you can clearly hear on 12 sec till 20 sec the big deep wob and then on higher note, you can clearly hear the siren like wob on 27 sec.

and in the beating section:

So, maybe Z'ette3 is using some unusual detuning law?

Hey, everybody!
Here is a demonstration of the Zebralette 3 plug-in (beta version).
All tracks use this synthesizer as a sound source. Of course, each track has also undergone some processing. This test was done in order to test the new free synthesizer from U-He in real working conditions. Instead of the other synthesizers I usually use, it was the Zebralette 3 that was chosen.
It should be noted that this is just a demo and is not a full-fledged track of high quality. It is possible to add additional samples in the future when working on the composition, but in this demo all sounds, including drum parts, are synthesized using only the Zebralette 3 plug-in.

Haven't read all the pages yet, but: can we have VST2 as well?
Murderous duck!
