edit: then, some nicely visible visual confirmation would ne nice.
like for example, the "save button" would blink green for an instant
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

Attached my try for a 75 / 80 hz patch. Use slot mod1 to set the freq and osc1 detune for the spread.Artie Fichelle wrote: Wed Feb 21, 2024 11:39 am I wish Zebra would have the possiblity to put in or see at least the fundamental in Hz. Don't know exactly in what section, but it would help.
I was not able to get a perfect fixed freq tone because the keyfollow modulator seems not to be linear.

So excited for this release I only heard about it today and made a movie trailer using only Zebra and no samples, was a fun challenge. Zebra can do drums too.tasmaniandevil wrote: Fri Feb 16, 2024 1:26 pm Hello world,
we've heard there have been some questions and rumours about Zebra 3 in the last few weeks and months (or decades).![]()
So today we want to share a first glimpse into the future of our beloved workhorse with you.

Just learning the spline editor. Here's a Juno-style Square-Saw with PWM.

Urs, these videos are very helpful. I remember watching them quite a while back, before having ZL3 in hand, and they didn't make much sense. Now they do! After having played with ZL3 for a few days and then coming back to these videos, they fill in some learning gaps nicely!!Urs wrote: Wed Feb 21, 2024 6:01 am Curve Editing:

If I find the time I'll do similar videos with the current UI. However, I'm not quite sure what's waiting for me after vacation, I might have dozens of tickets lined up.

No problems to report with my use of ZL3 with Cubase 10.5 and Mac OSX 10.15, so far.

I can now confirm that Zebralette 3 works in Cubase 10.0.60 on Win7, on this beast of an overclocked i7 920 (yes, I still use such a rig for testing purposes).
Mostly without a hitch. The only visual glitch I noticed, was the bottom right of the Matrix view (alternate view to the keyboard), which had horizontal lines going through the last two matrix slots. It's sporadic however.
Question though:
I tried dragging over a WAV file on top of the Basic OSC view and the OSC Editor. But nothing happened. I remember from conversations at Superbooth, that this was planned for Zebralette 3 as well.
However, this beta doesn't seem to have that feature yet? Only your "in-house" builds from back then?
I mean, you showed it in video form - but again, with the old "in-house" builds - just wondering if I did something wrong. In fact, I tried dragging from a file manager, from the blasted Cubase Media Pool, and from a WAV track from Cubase directly.
If this is a feature yet to arrive, any ETA for that?

It's in there, but it's still very much work in progress and experimental. E.g. there are no limits to the allowed file size yet, so it might simply stall or crash if you try to analyse a long recording. Try to keep the files to a somewhat reasonable size, like a few seconds, not a few minutes.Compyfox wrote: Thu Feb 22, 2024 6:31 am However, this beta doesn't seem to have that feature yet? Open the big spline editor, then drag a wave file onto it and it should get imported unless there are permission issues. On Windows you cannot drag and drop between applications with different permission levels (e.g. if Windows explorer runs on regular user permissions but Cubase was started explicitly using admin permissions).

Why explanation based on updated VST3 license by Steinberg would anger Steinberg? In the end you're just following their license, no personal things involved.Urs wrote: Tue Feb 20, 2024 3:45 am I would prefer not to do that because I do not wish to anger Steinberg in any way since they also have a provision in there which lets them cancel any agreement at any time, without any reason given. I'm prepared to give up VST2, but giving up VST3 would put me out of business.
Murderous duck!

That is absolutely correct, and other than pointing this out if somebody ask, I see no reason to discuss this. Several people asked, I pointed it out several times, and thus the issue is resolved for me. If it isn't resolved for others, Steinberg has a forum - bother them, not me.david.beholder wrote: Thu Feb 22, 2024 7:57 am In the end you're just following their license, no personal things involved.
I'll point it out a few more times before I explode because some people can't be arsed to read this thread but expect me to do it for them after I spent years working on a software that we're giving away for free

Keyfollow at -133.33 in the matrix works fine to flatten pitch (i.e. that .33 matters).Chris-S wrote: Wed Feb 21, 2024 4:51 pmAttached my try for a 75 / 80 hz patch. I think the majority of us that use your software, appreciate the sheer amount of time, dedication and sacrifice that you and your team have put in consistently over the years. There's been an incredibly positive response to Zebralette 3 on internet forums and Discord. I've just downloaded it myself and I am excited to check out the additive engine. Congratulations so far Urs!Urs wrote: Thu Feb 22, 2024 8:13 amThat is absolutely correct, and other than pointing this out if somebody ask, I see no reason to discuss this.
