Falcon has very limited oscillator features, but then a lot of it. Also modulation system is hidden in a lot popular menus, so certainly not as fun to use as avenger. But it also has a lot of features which you do not find here, like per voice fx, mpe, sample disk steaming. It used to be a sampler more than a synth, just like halion or kontakt.

Where did I say I browse them from the preset browser??Jac459 wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 12:40 am Sorry man but I think it is because you are doing it wrong.
Don't browse drum kits in the.... Presets browser. For sure you won't find it practical.
Use the drumkit browser.
What I do is take an empty patch, mute oac1 and go browse the drum kits ... Simple and efficient. And solo and mute work as expected.
Of course I use the drum kit browser or the sample selector...
But no... Solo/Mute and especially Unsolo works exactly as I described:
Unsoloing a drum sample layer like i.e. the kick alone unmutes as well the standard Oscillator which is actually in the hierachy one level above!

Agreed - this should be fixed. Soloing in the drum mixer should only apply to the drum mixer, that should be a level up from soloing the oscillators. Very annoying as it is.Trancit wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 9:59 am Unsoloing a drum sample layer like i.e. the kick alone unmutes as well the standard Oscillator which is actually in the hierachy one level above!

Fully agreed. Even if I prefer Avenger, I still think Falcon is a great synth and platform.Hanz Meyzer wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 9:12 am Falcon has very limited oscillator features, but then a lot of it. And by the way I didn't know it does per voice FX. Thanks for the heads-up (do you have a good guide to easily do it?)

Thanks Transit for clarifying. I wrongly assumed you were starting from the preset browser because you were mentioning about having to clear up the oscillators. My bad.Trancit wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 9:59 amWhere did I say I browse them from the preset browser??Jac459 wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 12:40 am Sorry man but I think it is because you are doing it wrong.

Anyway, let me clarify also my thought and explain you what I mean in an hopefully clearer way.
To me we have about 3 main use cases to use the drum kit.
1 - The sequence lover: Basically you want to have a mighty preset with drums and bass and lead and pad and .... Well... I don't think this sequence lover is a common case apart from the actual presets builder who wants to create a whoa/demo effect. For this user, the mute/solo is not working exactly as expected and .... (almost) nobody care.
2 - The pure drum kit user: Basically the user wanting to use only the drum kit samples.
For this one, it is not indeed perfect. Instead of muting the oscillator 1 (the only you will have) you have to put the volume of the oscillator 1 to 0... We can debate about it, but I think it is not a problem at all... About 5 ms lost, once per track when you play with the drum kit.
3 - The extended drum kit user (that's me): Basically a user who wants to use this instance of Avenger only to play drums, but wants to use the oscillators ALSO to play drums. Again, imagine I set the oscillator 1 as a kick, the oscillator 2 as a snare, .... etc. In this case, the fact that the mute/solo works the way it does is exactly the expected way. because all part of this Avenger instance is for drums...
==> So maybe you have noticed, 2-3 pages back, I was asking the dev if it was possible to assign one or a group of oscillators to the drum sequencer. In this case it would be really awesome in my opinion, You could enrich drum kits with not only samples but also synthesised drums...
Hope it clarify...

It's simple. Anything in a layer level will be global. And per voice in a keygroupJac459 wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 11:48 amFully agreed. Oh! You mean per voice or per oscillator ?Gam456 wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 1:18 pmIt's simple. Anything in a layer level will be global. To me per voice means if I have a chord of 4, I can have 4 different effects on each note. Polyphonic effects if you prefer.... Like in Phase Plant.

It´s per voice... everything in a keygroup is as polyphonic (effects as well) as if you do polyphonic effects in Phase Plant... i.e. having a distortion per voice to prevent ugly sound when playing multiple voices...Jac459 wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 1:29 pm Oh! You mean per voice or per oscillator ?

A fun work around to get to use almost all fx per voice is to use an Effect Rack in the keygroup fx area. One can then load almost all fx units. Without that, only a handfull fx units are available per voiceJac459 wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 1:29 pmOh! You mean per voice or per oscillator ?Gam456 wrote: Mon Feb 19, 2024 1:18 pmIt's simple. Add Effect rack -> open the tree view -> unfold everything until you arrive @ Effect Rack/Chain -> right click the Chain -> add fx

Here's a free expansion for Avenger 2. I used the factory sample content extensively so if Vengeance has an issue with me releasing these for free then I'll delete the link. My only intention is to contribute and not to disrespect any IP rights.
Anyway these aren't aimed at any particular genre but I think some of them prove fairly well that Avenger is not just an EDM machine. There are some cinematic presets and analog style filter sweeps, splits, arps, etc. They are not finished as I need to assign more modulation but if I keep tweaking them I'll never get around to releasing them.
I've had a lot of fun making, playing, and using these patches in projects so hopefully someone else will find them useful or at least entertaining.
