We had a very long debate. Not many people liked the 2nd envelope idea. Nobody was cancelled, it just wasn't a very popular idea.Yoloswagger9 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 5:42 pmYup I made the mistake in thinking this was a forum where different opinions were welcome. No matter though, my mistake.

Really, the second envelope is a good idea and opens the synth up to having more tonal options while still preserving the vintage tone we love of the Junos. Roland Cloud and Arturia have done this and I've used it to good advantage. Plus, unlike adding wavetables (as has been humorously put forth) it is still in keeping with the 80s Roland aesthetic/functionality as they had a number of two envelope synths.
Modern recreations should (imo) be about vintage tone but with better features. I have an expensive analog poly that has a sequencer which I never use. Instead of complaining that other vintage polys didn't have a sequencer, I just don't use it. meh! ha ha. Ignore the extra function if it offends you that aren't being hampered enough by the original's limitations. lol.

Yeah I think the jury's still out on whether the 2nd env idea was popular and in all fairness Yoloswagger9 had a monumental number of likes (8!) and really came out of the gate swinging with accusations of hypocrisy/echo chamber, and allusions to satanism. Now he's calling out the cancel culture/censorship at play - it's all very Elon. Actually I'd say in terms of moxy and panache we pro-env folks really carried the day.

If I am reading it correctly, detune is actually not an extra feature of TAL. It models the MKS 50, not the actual Alpha Juno and they are not exactly the same. It reads here that MKS 50 had detune:
https://www.vintagesynth.com/roland/mks ... u%20create.
Not that I am bothered, but it’s interesting. It’s cool not to lose features in case I fell in love with this and then I want the hardware.

The additional sawtooth waveform on the second oscillator is an exclusive TAL-Pha feature, according to the manual.audiouser720 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 9:34 pm If I am reading it correctly, detune is actually not an extra feature of TAL. It's great, gives the synth so much more versatility.
Another reason why I dislike these limited classic Roland architectures though... they're just so inflexible. 1 oscillator, 1 envelope, 1 LFO. Meh.

Wish we could color the waveform strips, knobs, reverb, delay, eq, arp, unison sections.

Here you go. They are extracted from sysex into folders named after the creators. They have not been quality checked, tagged, or rated, or otherwise filtered, and they have not been deduped (there are many, many dupes). Extract the zip into your presets folder.Chris-S wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 5:27 pmYes, the menu is grayed out.neverbeeninariot wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 5:00 pm Have you tried? :~)
As far as I know, the only restrictions in the demo versions are occasional white noise. In theory, they should work.

DCO-split, sync and detune options seem TAL added features not available @ MKS-50 hardware.audiouser720 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 9:34 pm If I am reading it correctly, detune is actually not an extra feature of TAL.
