Midi controller mapping

Hi you all. I'm interesested on the "Midi controller mapping" window. I was worried about how assigninig physical controls on my midi keyboard to internal synth like "OSC4" or "Substractive". Never understood how to use this window but I finally managed to get it working.

My only concern is that if I want a permanent controller assignment I have to do it on each-and-every project and each-and-every instance. Other synths (as U-he or Full Bucket ones) save internally this assignment and it's available on each instance you use.

Is there are a way that maybe I'm not finding to save a map and recall it on new instances ??

I never have had to deal with this, but isn't this what you define in the general Waveform SETTINGS - Control Surfaces ?
Good Luck!

Hi talby, but no. The settings page you mention are for configuring the physical devices attached to Waveform, in general.
On the tab of my screenshot we deal with which faders/buttons we pair with the ones on our current VST.

Yeah, is it possible to define a preset that consists of the VST, patch, and MIDI controller mappings in this instance?

I briefly looked at this once but didn't succeed. It would be a lot faster and more convenient than midi learn, especially for console plugins and the like. Interested in the answer, if there is one.

Edit. I sometimes just load plugins inside Komplete Control and use their mappings as a quick fix, but it's a poor solution.

Yes, many plugins support midi mapping. But I'm looking for a solution for the ones that don't support it, specially OSC4, Collective or Attractive. In fact I can't understand that Theia has MIDI controller support built-in and that Attractive doesn't.

Just checked a Retromod manual; scrolled down and nope; no find of an external keyboard/controller section. Then typed MIDI in its search and no mention neither!

What gives? Is this the same with the rest of the Retromod line, or worst, part or the rest of Tracktion synths? Are we expected to limit our playing to mouse and typewriting or what so fundamental am I missing here?

i believe default is that they assume OMNI; and take notes coming in on any channel. If you DON'T want that, then you can filter the device (or create a virtual one) to do that - which is one way you can easily use keyboards with pads. Create a virtual, and allow channel 10 for pads, and DON'T allow for keys.
