I really want to reproduce this bass sound but just can't get it.. It's both wide, full punchy and subby and I'm not sure how it was made
Here's a clip, I found it it early 2000s but don't remember at all where I got it from

It sounds like and extremely simple bass sound, probably just a combination of saw and square, heavily filtered.
The key to it is the envelope, it sounds quite percussive with a long delay or release. A bit 808'y, but more synthy.
Possibly also some portamento.
There are some other synths doubling it in the higher octaves, but i don't think they're part of the same sound.
