Waveform 12.5 free. Thought step clip was greatest thing ever for generating drum patterns seems to automatically route through VST plugin so that’s cool. Only 8 drums appear and several of them are not the correct and one blank. I think it may have to do with midi note settings routing/designation in plugin settings? I’m in very unfamiliar waters here

The Step Clip can't 'know' the mapping if it isn't 'told' by the VST. There is a utility plugin under Waveform -> Utility called MIDI Note Names which allows you to create your own mappings, there are a few presets for things like MT Power Drums. Easy to create your own.

Is there a way to import entire kit vs just the 2 toms kit that populates automatically?operandx wrote: Sun Mar 10, 2024 11:45 am The Step Clip can't 'know' the mapping if it isn't 'told' by the VST. You mean MT Power Drums? If the included one onlly has two toms, you'll have to create your own preset. You could start with the basic one and edit the mapping to include the other Tom. I'm sure the mapping info is in the plugin documentation, if not find it manually. You can then save your preset right click the preset name to open menu to SaveAs.totalnewbie wrote: Sun Mar 10, 2024 7:17 pmIs there a way to import entire kit vs just the 2 toms kit that populates automatically?operandx wrote: Sun Mar 10, 2024 11:45 am The Step Clip can't 'know' the mapping if it isn't 'told' by the VST. Edit: I've just checked and the MT Drums preset for the MIDI Note Mapper does include all 3 toms.

So if I’m understanding correctly I should be able to find presets and select my drum plugin and the entire rack should populate in step clip? Obviously I’m not in front of it or my question may make more sense I guess- like I said- un-familiar waters- un-familiar waters. Then map the midi notes or should I say before?operandx wrote: Sun Mar 10, 2024 7:38 pmYou mean MT Power Drums? If the included one onlly has two toms, you'll have to create your own preset.
