Tbh I don't quite see the point with the ping pong discussion... pretty pointless.

To me the point is just educational -- what is a ping pong delay under the hood, how do certain delay plugin feature sets make it possible/simple to select and tweak, etc.? The further point might be folks would have a humble feature suggestion for d16 on that, which d16 is free to make a decision on.

Yeah I'm sure the cool stuff it can do is going to be useful for a lot of people and it's definitely not a bread-and-butter delay. After demoing it I just don't think its complexity is useful for me personally.mjudge55 wrote: Tue Mar 12, 2024 4:17 pm Right. I might be off but I think the reason it takes some setting up in Sigmund is the separate delay lines don't feed back into each other, which is a typical way you'd set up a ping pong in other delays. Some plugins hide any complexity with a simple "ping pong" button that does the work under the hood. Guess it would've been nice if d16 had done that within each delay line, or given us cross feedback controls. I'm still on the fence about upgrading so I'm not defending the plugin but I don't really see Sigmund as a go-to for basic stuff like a ping pong delay, although it can do it, so I'm not evaluating it on those terms.

I have delays beyond covered, both pedals , rack and virtual, but ... I've upgraded already.

Didn´t expect that. I like it way better than the CE-2W. No more unwieldy FX pedals![]()

Yes, exactly - I think it would be a reasonable FR to ask for a ping-pong button on the Loops Delay section... that feature would certainly do no harm... but it in no way means that Sigmund needs it to be a respectible plugin.mjudge55 wrote: Tue Mar 12, 2024 5:09 pmWait a comp that isn't a gate? By the way: my own favourite ping-pong delay plugin is made by a company from Poland named D16.

Tried the demo for two minutes and upgraded immediately. $19 for the upgrade from version 1 was a no brainer for me. If I didn't already own version 1 then $59 would be an equally compelling deal.
Sigmund is a great tool and I've got their Repeater delay for simpler tasks (along with a ton of other delay plugins).

I think you've hit on something there. Complex is only complicated if one is not willing to put the time in to learn the plugin (any plugin for that matter).kraster wrote: Mon Mar 11, 2024 5:11 pm It's complex (ie. capable of elaborate processing) but not difficult or obtuse to use.

I don't wanna blow any minds here and I don't wanna speak for anyone but I think it's safe to say all are aware there are plugins out there with ping pong buttons. I suspect, and I may be waaaay out on a limb here so I apologize, that there is at least one zaaaaany individual who'd like to see it in Sigmund. Again, sorry if I'm making things feel weird.

Complex: capable of complexity/intricacy
Complicated: Difficult to operate or understand.
Sigmund is the former but not the latter, imho.
There's little to no menu diving.
It's filter into distortion (or inverted) with one knob dynamics, into pre delay into delay all multiplied by 4.
There are only three modulation destinations, and four mod sources and every source can be sent to each destination. That's kind of it.
The only thing that can require a little consideration is the various routing option but even that's not difficult.
I think it sounds fantastic. There's a lovely squashiness to the filters and the distortion sounds great.
It's a lovely sounding thing and tremendously fun to use.

Thanks! Interesting! Here's a preset I made for emulating the Keeley Andy Timmons delay:
