This further substantiates this imho.
I like their products I do not like the company. (UA customer since 2005)

IK Amps, Delays , Verbs and Tapes in many cases are now superior to UA. I own most of everything they both sell. Regardless this is a great deal in my opinion.

Definitely don't agree with you re: Amps (do you mean preamps or guitar amps? preamps I dont' agree with you at all.. or amplitube, but if you mean Tonex.. hands down IK)... which Ik delays do you like? i only have the older ones that are in the TRacks ones and definitely I prefer even the older UAD delays, same with verbs, I prefer UAD lexicon and plates... but tapes I do prefer ik now.
Put it this way, the only ik stuff that are in my go to (Prime Time) plug in list is their tapes and tonex.... and mix box but primarily so I can send stuff to other people I collaborate with who I also encouraged to get mixbox.

Apologies- you are correct- I bought the signature bundle and hadn't even noticed it had registered to the Cloud. I am not remotely concerned about it however, my BigSky plugin is also a cloud authorisation, no issues.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

By Amps I mean specifically Tonex. The Bx coded amps in the UA catalog are fine but not exceptional. The IK reverbs that I think are superior in many applications at least to my ear are Sunset and Fame. I am hedging here a bit the AKG BX20 and the Plate 140 from UA are top notch and I haven't demo'd Hitsville. The IK Space Delay is a go to for me over the UA Space Echo (Galaxy) and the various X-Time models sound fantastic and the range on offer is extremely versatile. I think IK has closed the gap and then some. They are at least competitive and in my view, superior in several cases.

Understood.. Definitely agreed with Tonex... the Bx Coded stuff... I don't like Space Reverbs that is emulates you being in a physical studio space, whatever they are called.. I have hitsville and think another one from UAD, never used it beyond when I demo'ed it (I think it was part of a package why I even got it)... I never liked the RE-201 (which as you probably know was very popular here in ja for dub).. so yeah though I have Galaxy, I never use it and I have other similar emulations from others (like Arturia) but never use it...
I havne't really tried the X stuff.. I have one, can't remember which one.
I think where uad excels the most is PreAmps, and Compressors.. for me in those field they are untouchable those far, not even Softube who is my favourite developer in terms of products can touch them.. to me... (and yes I am clearly not speaking about UAD plugins developed by softube (or bx for that matter)
, but their own stuff).
But I hear ya.

Yes their compressor models in particular are very solid. We tend to choose the UA plugins for the close emulation of the hardware and in the case of UA I have two of the classics in actual hardware in my studio. What's happened with me as that some of the software compressors have more advanced features and I have moved on from them (trying not to sound like a snot here) . I suppose I have traded some accuracy for more utility. In this case though, IK isn't the solution. Point taken. Good chat.

UA Sound City Studios is on a whole other level than IK Sunset and Fame. And I definitely prefer UA Galaxy to IK Space Delay. I started with IK, moved to Arturia, and then settled on UA. There are certain Space Echo guitar tones that I wanted to replicate (like Dave Fielding from the Chameleons) that UA nails, but the others don’t.Scotty wrote: Fri Mar 22, 2024 6:34 pm The IK reverbs that I think are superior in many applications at least to my ear are Sunset and Fame. But of course I agree with you on IK amps (TONEX) being head and shoulders above the Nembrini coded Brainworx amps for UAD.
