Have you tried MidiFX? I've been getting good results lately with Playbeat, Riffer, and Beat Scholar. And while I have gotten as much done with Harmony Bloom and HY-RPE2, they're an absolute joy to play with and I let them hypnotize me with bleep-bloops while I'm doing mindless web work.

does anyone know if these work via apple Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter? or similar cable?

Thomann page says minimum OS 10.12, UA page says 10.15
bit of a catch 22, hence the price tag i guess. 4 x SHARCs? what is that equivalent to a Pentium4 worth of processing power? or an i3 or something? pfft

Works with the Thunderbolt 2 to Firewire adapter. Not sure if the current USB-C adapter will work. OS 10.12 will work but you won't be able to use any recent plugins, as they require an installation that isn't compatible with 10.12. I think even 10.15 isn't compatible.

i have a mojave machine which would work with older drivers i guess
took me so long to ween myself off UAD back in the day, not sure why i would consider this

would be good for live work is my main thought. but then does the firewire model have tons of latency!?

I think it's such a great deal. I bought it the last time they had this for slightly less $$, but it's well worth considering.

EDIT: It looks like that deal is over, as it's not on their site anymore. But if anyone else missed it, I'd keep an eye on their site as they may have it again.

Just remember that it is US only and other countries get blocked after you pay via Paypal.

I wonder if there's a way to use a VPN so it thinks you're from the US? Or does it get the country from your credit card number no matter what?
