As a live keys player who dislikes plugins live (but who uses them exclusive in the safety of a home studio) a self-contained instrument that could handle piano, organ and synth as well as potentially other sampled based instruments? Sure, bring it on. I've used workstations for years in this duty despite never once firing up their sequencers. I lucked into a good deal on a used Nord stage 3 not long ago, which is one of the few instruments that does everything I need well (though I'd argue not the best at any one thing) and provides great controls for live tweaking.

Granted I don't think Arturia's piano/b3/rhodes are top of the line from what I've gathered, but in a live setting there's "good enough to work well".

Of course that's all supposing it is this astro lab thing.

My hope would be the Polybrute 12 with poly AT that was rumored, not because I need such a thing but it sounds freaking cool!

This is pretty much confirmed a few post back :tu:
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Yes, that is a good approach.

PUSH 3 took a better approach with user upgradable CPU, SSD etc...you can even upgrade form the 'controller only' version...maybe Arturia will follow the same (sensible) model...you get both controller and full hardware users that way.

Sure, and they surely do a 25 years Arturia event for that. :P

Maybe in 25 years Linux desktop market share will be in double figures :hihi:

Wasn't that the hope 25 years ago? :ud:

For you it wouldn't have enough going for it to be your sole keyboard. Let's get that straight.

Having it all in one could be more useful than kludging around a keyboard, audio interface, and a laptop.
So if it's just Analog Lab in a box for $1600 we can assume you will buy it instantly then? And it will be your sole gigging keyboard?

Of course not

I’d wish for a standalone Spark.

Interest in Analog lab in a box with keys is zero.

Would have loved new Keystep range with Midi 2.0. Oh well.

I still haven't gotten an answer to my question in the (KVR) Arturia forum if KeyLab Essential 88 mk3 will support MIDI 2.0 now or in the future.

I would buy one if the answer is yes.

Standalone hardware Analog Lab with a stage keyboard style layout would be absolutely awesome and I'd be interested in swapping out my Yamaha CK88 for it.

The issue is.. I'm not in a band, and I rarely gig keys because it's too much effort/gear for the same amount of money I get turning up with an acoustic guitar. I've been thinking of selling the CK88 for a while now, so realistically.. probably wouldn't get a standalone hardware Analog Lab, even though I think it'd be great.

If it's priced decently, as it appears to be, then it could do well because there isn't that much in the way of good stage keyboards at that price.

If it's not set out as a stage keyboard then tbh I don't see much point in it because using it live with a layout designed for live use, without needing to bother with midi or plugins, would be the only real appeal for me.

Augmented Cowbell?

From what I've seen, its something to do with hardware synths and mobile apps. Astrolab I think it's called. A hardware synth version of analog lab.
