One shows his/her age by stating whether or not they like Behringer. I'm from the period of time when Behringer was known for cheap crap that no one would dare buy second-hand.SoftSynthLover99 wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 1:18 pmCan any developer actually own digital wood panels, knob styles, or have a copyright on how the layout of a plugin can be? I could see if they were selling the plugin, but they are giving it away for free. I personally don’t understand why you would care at all.Tone2 Synthesizers wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 11:18 am We have not licensed our graphics or art style to Behringer and are currently investigating whether our intellectual rights have been infringed.
I’m no fan of Behringer and have zero behringer gear in my studio, but one thing I like about them is how they highlight how companies try to hold a monopoly over the designs of musical instruments, and now it seem software instruments as well…
Did Tone2 license Moog, Roland or (insert analog synth here) when it designed and replicated the sound of vintage analog synths for its plugins? If not, that sort of hypocrisy is very off putting in my personal opinion.
It's the younger generation that gives Behringer any merit at all. And that's only because they are making cheap remakes.
Regardless of age, not much has changed as far as the company's ethics, build quality or originality is concerned.
