Behringer Vintage Plugin

Truth is other companies have been making as cheap as possible analog synths, because they don't have the economies of scale of behringer nor the capital, Roland made the SE02 at a low price point and more features than Behringer Model D clone, DSI made the mopho and tetra more than a decade ago, novation made the bass station 2, arturia made the minibrute and there are many other examples. And then there was plugins and DAW to make any damn music on the cheap for 200 years before Behringer was interested in the synth market.
And worse of all they love to play the victim when they are bigger than all the other manufacturers, except yamaha but they are bigger conglomerate, they have a martyr complex.

why does it matter who they copied , everyone will still download it , personally i thinkjamcat wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 7:50 pm It's like the 3 blind men and the elephant.
One says, "it's a Tone2 Saurus copy!"
Another says, "it's an Ableton Analog copy!"
The third says, "it's an AAS Ultra Analog copy!"
But they're all right, and wrong at the same time.
Because really, it's just another Behringer.
they look nothing alike the behringer looks far superior in design
and having not tried it yet that’s all i can say

Functionally nothing. It's the UI that is similar and I'm convinced half of the people here need glasses since they insist they can't see it. The color scheme is extremely similar, the knobs are almost identical, the (AFAIK) fairly distinct small square buttons are there. It's so similar that I saw multiple people outside this thread speculate that tone2 was involved when in fact they had nothing to do with it. And that's the only problem. It looks like their stuff and it's not. If they released something that looked this similar to Massive, even if it were functionally different, do you think NI would let it fly? I doubt it. They had to pick someone without the resources to fight back.IvyBirds wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 8:26 pmAnd yet they have figured out ways to make vintage sounding Synths at low price points and have come up with all new synth designsGreenstorm33 wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 8:21 pmEither way it's further evidence that the vast majority of the people at the company have not come up with an original idea in their entire lives.jamcat wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 7:50 pm It's like the 3 blind men and the elephant.

Why haven't other companies been able to do the same? Even when they are reissuing their own synth designs?
And what is so unique about Saurus? It's an emulation after all

I wonder why they took down the page if there’s no problem with it?

Well people here had issues getting it registered at first, and it also seemed like you needed the standalone installed to register it, which was probably not intentional. There were also some website issues trying to get a license. Would be hilarious though if the page went back up and the synth looked completely different.Examigan wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 11:47 pm I wonder why they took down the page if there’s no problem with it?

Layout is irrelevant. The question is "could this be reasonably mistaken for a tone2 product or collaboration," and to me and apparently many others the answer is a pretty clear "yes."dartfordyes wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 11:54 pmyour blind they are laid out way differentGreenstorm33 wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 11:45 pmFunctionally nothing. And yeah, flat-out copying a currently operating company's midi controller is a great thing to do. Amazing company. Anything legal is ethical, am I right? I don't get you people.

My first thought when I saw the plugin was "wow, so cool of Tone2 to collab with Behringer for their first VST release!". Then I heard it in a video and thought "damn, I didn't know Tone2 sounded like a cheap piece of crap, I'm never buying anything from them!".

Interesting... you mean the big Behr making a foothold in the VA market? Oddly enough, I'm not worried at all. I will be sticking with tried and true devs.Urs wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 7:07 pmIt's one of those peculiar occasions where, when someone adds something to an environment, the environment is going to shrink.KVRforumRulez wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 7:00 pm The big Behr enters the VA fray! Speaking of tasteless copying, the keyboard controller in the picture is such a blatant knockoff that it was mentioned in several tech journals. Anyone want to venture a guess at what company’s keyboard controller got copied? I’ll give you a hint……..starts with an “A”.Greenstorm33 wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 11:50 pmMy synths!
