What if I already have ST2 XL? I have ordered SS2. Can I not play SS2 sounds in ST2?

Beardedone, your ST2 engine should play SS2 sound fine. I've been doing it that way without trouble. Just move the files where ST2 will find them, start ST2, have a cuppa and maybe a piece pie while ST2 rescans (you might have to do this manually if your ST2 isn't set to scan at startup), and you're there.

Technically ONE more day (or less). But, lucky for you it is the weekend. So, you guys have until Monday when Rob (webmaster of esoundz) will delete Combi Drum Kits from the main site menu and also there will no longer be an "add ST2 engine only" option for so cheap. This was a limited time promo. Consider the weekend an extension. If you want it GET IT!

Just so you know, the SS2 upgrade from SS1 is not ending today. I don't know the final day but you will have the full month of January at least. I hope that's enough time for anyone who wants to upgrade their Toyota to a Ferrari! (just kidding) It IS a huge difference between SS1 and SS2. This upgrade price is really good.

The cool thing is that you can play the sounds from BOTH actually. Here's how you can do it. It's kind of cool. Drag all of the SS2 sounds into your ST2Instruments folder with the rest of your ST2 sounds. Then in your pref of both ST2 and SS2 make sure you browse and point to the ST2Instruments folder. Here's what will happen. ST2 will read ALL of the sounds and SS2 will read ONLY the specially coded SS2 sounds (filtering out from its interface all that is not SS2 library). But, that can be good when you want to share combi patches or child patches with other SS2 owners who may not have the same exact OTHER sound collections you have. Or it can be good just to be in SS2 "mode" or be in full ST2 EVERYTHING "mode".Mighty_Hero wrote:Yeah I am going to play SS2 in ST2 as well
The ONLY thing about that set up that could be a little, well... a little bit of patience would be needed because with THAT many sounds it would take a little while to load and the first child preset saving in a session would be a long one because it would need to scan ALL of your sounds (and we're talking thousands). But, it's not that bad and totally worth it. Relatively speaking (ie. hardware samplers) to have this ability to have so many gigs of sounds like that and loadable this quickly (once it is refreshed) is fantastic.

So to clarify, because I have ST 2 XL already I don't need to pay the extra 99 dollars to play SS2 sounds,(that option is aimed at non- XL owners?).
Also I got my ST2 XL from Turnkey's recent cheap upgrade scheme from ST 1 LE to ST 2 XL upgrade path. Can I just scan the invoice and email it as a jpg to you as proof of purchase?
The wide range of old analogue synth sounds is very appealing along with the tons of other stuff! Luckily I've just got a new additional 250gig hard drive!

if that scanning only SS2 sounds works proper Dave, I might install ya'lls interface as well, when I only want to use SS2 sounds, but I also will have in ST2's area, a folder called SS2, so who knows...
I saw the full month of Jan. Whoo hoo!! And seriously for a moment, thanks, I will be buying asap.

We're doing it through January in case anyone was away for vacation. I want all Sonic Synth 1 users to have the opportunity to upgrade to Sonik Synth 2 while they can. It is an unusually massive upgrade where you really get a lot for the money and even though it is completely obvious that I push for its success I really do think that all Sonic Synth 1 users will seriously like this a lot better. It's what Sonic Synth always wanted to be- an endlessly usable synth workstation.
