Very cool! If I will ever rehearse/gig again, I will try this. Noise gate, tuner, and switching between two presets covers so much! Though - I will check the reviews, if it sounds good with headphones, I might try it, I want to practice without the PC, but with my favorite captures.

IK just keep on hitting it out of the park, awesome stuff, TONEX just keeps on going.
New version out now, v1.7.1, getting closer to that (2), lets hope that means TONEX2, and they got some awesome stuff for us that knocks our socks off, no pressure one can hope

This potentially will fit well in various scenarios. Those having extremely flexible effects units, with effects return/send, that allow the return input to be first in the chain if desired, can have a (perhaps new) world of amp and pedal captures in their device, to get things started. Standard output or usb to daws, and to 'gear that takes pedals well' should also be good. The basic effects onboard the One are also enough for enjoyable auditions and a/b comparisons of amp/stomp captures, in the studio, on the couch, at the beach, on a hay bale in back of the pickup, wherever you and your guitar can fit

It seems like something that would be great for both jamming and using with my laptop as a portable recording setup, but in the specs section is says 24-bit/44.1 kHz. Is that a typo?

I have a lot of half finished songs recorded in 24/48 and I don't want to mix sample rates in those projects.

Sorry, no. It loads Tonex captures and provides some processing, but not to the degree of AT. Best thing is to try the free Tonex CS (which includes 40 captures) and see how you like it.

We get this question time to time, here is a synopsis: AmpliTube and TONEX are two different products using different technologies: AmpliTube is made using analog modeling technology while TONEX uses a new technology called AI machine modeling ( https://www.amplitube.com/ai ). While analog modeling simulates the behavior of the whole circuit of the amp - with all the knobs, switches, buttons and their interactions - AI machine modeling gives an ultra-realistic simulation of the rig with a specific knob settings. So it's not that one technology is "better" than the other, it depends of what the final user's needs are: full editing and customization versus accuracy in getting a specific sound. Using them together gives of course the best of both worlds and a super-powerful amp-sim system.

The two products are also different because AmpliTube can simulate the entire set up used in guitar recording (multiple serial and parallel rigs combining amps, all type of stomp effects, post effects, cabinets and microphones, etc.. with full editing down to the single gear), while TONEX is dedicated to simulates just amp, cabinets and certain type of pedals (distortions, overdrive, fuzz, EQ, boost) in each of their combinations. However TONEX can be used inside AmpliTube, as a sub-system of amps and pedals, again to have the best of both worlds.

And my very biased subjective opinion.
Amplitube sounds like shite, compared to what is available in the market these days.. even though I own most of the models, I don't even have it installed. (and yes I do have a few other algorithmic ones installed)

Whilst Tonex is my go to Guitar amp sim, though I have tons of others to choose from... Tonex by miles...
Best product ik has ever done imho.

I usually use other guitar amp simulators (mostly Neural DSP) but still use Amplitube from time to time for cleans or rhythm.
I have the basic ToneX suite but haven't really used it tbh... I might have to give it a go,
