squids, when do you think the whole premium series will be available completely?
That's a good question. The process is slower than the regular Sonic Refill line (of which you can expect to see 5-10 new ones before the year is up). So, I don't know. They'll come out one at a time and as long as Reason users are buying them as much as they buy the Sonic Refills then we'll move accordingly. But, this Grand C7 and the Acoustic Gtr are stellar. The Premium Drum Kits is also really great.
thx, i'm especially interested in the release date of the drums, because something like bfd would be overkill for me(don't want to waste that much hd-space) so i really would like to know how the drums compare to the new props-drums.

I have two options for the Premium C7 Grand refill. One is to go to your local shop and/or call up M-Audio UK and ask them to get this in stock because you want to buy it. Or, you can just get it right now from here: http://www.esoundz.com/details/viewDeta ... errer=home

It's a good idea to always check on www.esoundz.com for any products that SR is involved in as we make sure we have it there internationally no matter what (as we cannot control how long it takes to get out there in physical stores)

afriquedeluxe,
I ordered mine from esoundz (first product purchased through them) and I received it pretty quickly. Great C7 refill. Comes with more variations than I expected and has been a pleasure to play on my Keystation Pro 88. If the other premium refills are this good, I can't wait to get my hands on them. Can't wait to get the Guitar refill. BTW, I also have the Sonic Reality 1-5 Sonic Refill, and I love those Pianos as well, especially the ones with the string sounds. Most people can't believe these sounds are from soft synths.

jrich sends........

oh yeah , one more thing, where can i find some mp3 demos of the c7 refill, because am yet to hear how it even sounds like. and am planning on getting a new midi controller but i gota decide between the keystation pro88 and keystation 88es, squids what would you recommend? i havent heard that many positive things about the 88pro so i was leaning more towards the 88es as its light and pretty much would do the same job except without all the knobs.

ps. i could do some demos for that c7 refill if there arent any, well after i buy the refill.

For the "lots of workstation sounds" I highly recommend this: http://www.esoundz.com/details/viewDeta ... errer=home It has been very well received and has a lot of bang for the buck (2,000 patches and 1.2 gig refill). It's a good price too because it has 5 full volumes into one refill (normal value of that would be $250 with each being normally $50).

On the piano, I think Scott Wilkie (who is a great piano player) as had some demos at M-Audio but I am not sure where they are at with that. Maybe I'll just do one for esoundz just to have one because you have a good point there. It'd be nice to hear it!

As far as between the two keyboards, I think the Keystation Pro88 is really nice. It's GREAT value, it really is. I have the 61ES and it is quite impressive too in a different way. The feel is of course not going to be as piano-like as the Pro88 (same feel as the 88ES btw) but for a lighter semi-weighted action it is suprisingly not bad at all! However, I always prefer weighted keys.

My favorite weighted controller is probably the Motif ES8. I have always been a fan of the Yamaha feel. But, it is not as light and the drivers for the USB connection to your computer are not NEARLY as seemless as the Keystation Pro88 (although that might improve).

I am still waiting (weighting?) for a very simple great feeling weighted keyboard controller without a lot of extra stuff that weighs as little as possible yet has great piano like feel. That may be physically impossible though but you never know.

thanks for the help guys, very much appreciated. however ill have to find another way of buying it because that esoundz site doesnt take my switch/solo card.

I'm not pleased... I'm a piano player and have been longing for a really decent piano sample for the nnxt, so I jumped as soon as this was available and:hmm, not so good. Sounds dull and small, highest velocity layer is much duller than the rest of the sample. It's especially distressing because much of the samples are tasty, but,so uneven that, for me, not usable. Maybe I expected too much, but with the Bose290 going for $170 I was hoping for more than this. The best setup I can think of for real piano is to get a good vst piano instrument and rewire; Tracktion is a great, and currently free rewire host. I'll be able to fix this sample up to go into some mixes, but it's not the solo piano I was hoping for. By the way, not my keyboard's fault; I'm midi-ing off a Yamaha P120. :(

It seems to me that pianos are a very subjective area. Everybody likes different sounds. Could it be that we are really wanting to feel what you feel when you play a real piano... and what you hear as well. I don't know.

Well, anyway, I liked the piano. It's not the "I'll never buy another piano!" piano, but I don't think there is one out there. But for the money, it is very nice. I also ordered the PMI Bosendorfer 290 Plug-In from soundsonline. But it's big and does the streaming thing. This piano plays in reason. That's a big plus for me.

I would love to get the strings premium refill. Any news of when it may be ready? Will the m-audio/props split effect any of these premium refills?
