And will I be able to run my old Symphonic Choirs and Voice of the apoccalypse inside Opus also ?
Check the individual libraries at Eastwest to see if they support Opus.
Seemingly only Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition will give you Opus
Surprise surprise,.. not that many good deals on that one ,.. and a greedy 995 default
No actual upgrade path
Thanks EW for making it easy for me to stay on play-engine with what I already got
You saved me 150 bucks for the Hollywood deal ,.. and in return you got nothing![]()
Will I be able to upgrade to the Opus engine without buying Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition?
Currently you must purchase Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition to get the OPUS software. People who purchase any other EastWest product post-release will also get OPUS. All ComposerCloud members will automatically get OPUS. But we are going to wait a while before allowing previous PLAY product purchasers to upgrade in order to assist our support team during this major upgrade period. When we do provide that option, it will be a paid upgrade.
But…although the sale, the Hollywood Choirs Diamond doesn’t interest me. Why?
Because for some uncomprehensive reason, this and 10 other choirs-libraries in the market are focused only in the classical or religious sounding choir-music.
And how often you do church-music?
These libraries are practically useless for the pop/rock genres, where you need different sounding, very simple aahs and ooohs and other background harmonies.
I have 10 EW libraries, includung the Hollywood Backup Singers, which was a real disappointment, because you can’t separate harmony voices.
The only library partly useful for the pop/rock backing harmononies is the Realivox Ladies - but unfortunately the developer hasn’t upgraded the library for years, and e.g. the male voices are totally missing.
EW Voices of Soul and Hollywood Backup singers are both missing the male voices. Why?
So - I really don’t get these choirs developers.
Yes, the Hollywood Choirs Diamond includes the wordbuilder, but all the vocal samples are ceremonial and over pompous for the earthly pop/rock genres.
I would not say that main target is church-music ,.. but more the cinematic blockbuster genre
They dont hide it either:
Guess thats where the money and developement is ,.. films are orchestraded very classic
For the more common music I guess we will se something uaseable AI-based soon if any
Not that its refined enough yet
