I know it's probably going to be taken the wrong way, but I'm interested in how much people are willing to pay for their T2 upgrades. In other words, at what point will you say "f**k it, I'm not gonna upgrade"

I doubt it makes any difference, being that we're a small portion of users and pricing has probably already been determined, but I see a few people mentioning the $300 price point, (out of my range) that I wonder if that's what people are expecting.

anyways mostly for entertainment and to pass time in my oh-so-cold apartement

Kind of hard to rate a product whose specs aren't finished being released or a demo hasn't been made available. Let alone unbiased reviews.

That being said, As long as it is bug free and has no glaring feature holes I'll pay any price that doesn't seem unreasonable when all the features are announced.

well, I look at it this way....( and this is just my opinion)

Mackie's Spike (with Traction) is retailing for $399.00 right now and that isn't expected to change with T2, and I wouldn't imagine that Tracktion is more than half the value of that package. So, that being said Tracktion should retail at about $200.00. That minus the $80.00 I already spent for T1 that leaves $120.00 or less ( according to how Beno put it).

Worst case scenario for me would be $300.00 and no upgrade discount. So, even at that T2 would be worth buying over some others that I would have had to pay less for....

and that is not because Tracktion is better or worse than any of the others....it's because it is what works for me........and after all, that's the bottom line isn't it...???

well they do owe us more than $80 off because they almost reduced our product to nothing when they set it as free, so they better compensate.. or else they wont git ma money!!! actually they will but cmon mackie give us a brk. Also give us groundhog for logo.

 T2 is going to be worth the upgrade price.
I don't believe corporate sponsorship has skewed Jules 'Idea' of an easy to use, inexpensive, sequencing tool for 'the BIG 3 hating rest of us musicians'. He (and with Mackie Fundage) is keeping up with the big dogs at a puppy price. And this puppy barks! LOUD!! So keep your chins up T-HEADS.

Beno has already said we will get *more* than the $80 discount to reward loyalty (in a thread about six months ago).

This points to the full price going up quite noticeably, I think, but the loyalty of T1 buyers will keep the cost down for us.

This is another reason why we can expect to see that updated features list just keep on growing over the next few weeks 8)

if it has every thing then 300+ is worth it & no more silly glitches at the moment i find it hard to rec vox in becouse my artests r used to a pert of the tune being looped & thay can keep repeating there line in till i get a good 1 (or if there shit then a good start on 1 good middle on the other & a good end in 1 aswell) i think a optainal mixer button would be pukker aswell 2 speed things up wen yr working & to be abel to set the grid lines to a quantise that u choose or to increase with zoom insted of just increase with zoom

I cant believe theres people that think the T2 update will lack features, or not be worth the price  . Must be all the newbies or the folks that got here after the Mackie deal.
I dont think they understand who they're dealing with here. Before the Mackie/Mac version Jules was a coding machine cyborg. Something like Jorgen from eXt. Stuff was being added daily. And its been a hell of a long time since the last update so I'm sure theres gonna be a lot of new stuff. 8)

You forgot to enter "Up to 10$" into the poll.

I'd hardly pay anything.

well i rely hope yr right AD80 coz tracktion looks like the only way to work smothley in windows & thats worth alot!!!!!

I picked 110$. I think Tracktion will likely go for 249$, and previous users will only have to pay 100$ or so to upgrade.

How will the discount work? If you have the commercial fully paid tracktion registered they know who you are?

True. It seems so long ago now. Jules was producing updates on a very regular basis before the Mackie deal.

At times the updates to Tracktion were even faster than Jorgens for EXT!

Jules has massive plans for Tracktion.I'm sure he wants to make sure Tracktion 2 will be competitive feature wise for at least another year. Things move so fast these days development wise...Live 5 likely this summer, Sonar 5, SX4 Sept / Oct and who knows where Podium and EXT will be feature wise within the next 2 months! :o

So with all that in mind T2 will have features that lead and match the competition at least in most cases I think...then we play the game again a year or two from now as the Sequencers keep leap frogging each other feature wise.

T2's key aspects for me are the workflow, single screen environment, the reason behind the development - ease of use (which ensures hopefully it will always differ from the big boys in this way)and the price. 8)

If it will cost me less money to make music easier and quicker then that for me is the key reason to use Tracktion 1 or 2.

My guess is Jules will be able to get any updates or bug fixes out very quickly once T2 is released.Without any T3 developments to distract him for at lease 6 - 12 months (guess), I think we will see alot of Jules on the forum after it's released.

I wonder if there will be other Raw material products and if so what they would be? I think Ben (KVR) said something about other Raw material products when the forum name changed to Raw Material Software.

Maybe Jules has changed his mind and decided to swell the feature set of Tracktion 2 even more instead.
