(since i´d use it for realtime-play things)
Both Ableton 12 and Pro Tools (latest version) are reporting zero.
Thats great to hear ! Thank you !

I installed the latest version but I only have a black screen when opening this plugin, anyone else with this issue? I am running win 10 and bitwig 5.1

EDIT: it's solved, it seemed it was only a black screen when Cube is also in the same project. Now I also updated to the latest version of Cube it works again.

Really love this lunacy Audio stuff, both cube and beam are great, I hope for additional Nodes soon.

New version 1.1 is out.

Adds two types of comb filter and a vowel filter. Also adds stereo spread to the filter section.

Also adds an Envelope follower and a randomiser for the LFOs/Curves.

Also more presets.

Thanks for pointing out this effect ! Just purchased it, absolutely fantastic !

A new module is available for Beam called Time. It's buffer shuffler/timestretching/repitching plugin.

It's a paid upgrade on "sale" for 29 euro.

For me, that's a bit steep but like the rest of the stuff in Beam it's really well implemented.

I feel like Beam is very underrated. I'm a sucker for anything that allows variance in routing and Beam is one of the best for routing and it doesn't hurt that it's drop dead gorgeous to look at.

The time node adds a lot of potential to this and the fact that, like all the other effects, you can have three of them makes it incredibly flexible.

Beam was a plug-in I looked at a few videos of and immediately was like "I can recreate this in Bitwig using a better granular engine (autochroma) and whatever world class reverbs I want... pass."

The new time module looks really neat tho. Sad to see it's a paid add on stuck in Beam. I'd like to see the time module offered up as a standalone to try out.

Kiloheartz does the paid module thing, but those modules can be used as a regular plug-in outside of the whole Snapheap environment.

Cheers

Yeah, I'm not happy about the price. It's applying the microtransactions of gaming to plugins. I also find it a bit steep. 20 would be just about acceptable with some grumbling, 10 would be like, "fair enough" but 30 is lot of money for a bit of plugin!

It's true that with Bitwig you could create nearly everything imaginable. For me that's not that appealing. I have Bitwig and appreciate the power but a lot of grid devices I've used always have an "we've got that at home, dear " quality. I find some Max devices in Ableton the same.

A poor facsimile of some more bespoke design.

Workflow wise it's often just a very clunky or convoluted implementation and lacks things like streamlining towards a specific task you'll find in 3rd party plugins

There's a lot to be said for bespoke design that isn't always part of the same paradigm. That might be a superficial reason but with music aesthetics, creativity are intergral to the process, at least for me.

Beam is very self contained. You have a very nice granular processor/delay combo, a very competent convolution reverb with its own specific modulation, a pretty flexible filter and now the Time module. That's all wrapped in one of the best interfaces you'll find around with sensible modulation that's not overbearing (2 msegs/LFOs and an envelope follower.)

The biggest draw for me is the routing. It's one of the best systems I've come across. Ridiculously flexible and very easy to use. As well as every effect having its own mix knob. Every point between a node or at a junction has its own mixer for levels and panning. Those controls can be targets for the modulation system.

And, as I said above it doesn't hurt that it's also one of the most beautiful around.

You could do all of this in Bitwig or Ableton but as I said there's a lot to be said for one person's or team's particular vision for something. There's an art to that, imho.

Am I missing something.. where on their website do we download a demo?

Wasn't interested until now but that new module made me change my mind. Just bought it for 71$ which seems a very fair price for such a plugin.

Post

LOL, you can buy it new for $71, with the new effect, but those who bought it on release (and bought previous update) pay $30. The new effect upgrade is 42% of what it costs to buy it new. Whatever.
I misunderstood--my bad.

Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Hm, price on the website says $59 but when I hit buy it's suddenly $71. That tax or something? :?

I had to pay another 34$ to unlock the new module so that makes it 105$ altogether which is still OK but I was slightly disappointed tbh.

VAT, same for me although in the USA where the company is based there is no such thing as VAT.

A pretty cool idea but they really need an option to interpolate zero crossings, the square wavefronts are very audible in the demo video
