Good morning everyone. I need to identify the key of some audio clips. I looked for this feature but couldn't find it. Can anyone tell me if this feature is present in Tracktion? Thank you.

Mile thanks.. I know there are alternatives but it would be nice to have this feature directly in Tracktion. Some DJ tools have been introduced in the latest updates. This would be very useful for those who mix. We hope someone from the Tracktion team reads this and maybe considers adding this feature.

If you have the Pro version, the included Melodyne plug-in can make a good stab at it.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

There can be multiple tonalities in one track. There can be deviations and the use of parallel tonalities. It can also be produced in modal tonalities. The use of chromatic passages. Melismas are generally out of tonality. Tonality is also not a strict rule and can be ignored. All these autokeyfinders are absolutely useless for a good result. Hope I didn't offend anyone, especially the DJs.

It does, but Melodyne--in my fairly extensive experience--rarely gets it right. In fact, it's wrong more often than not, and by quite a bit.
The "transfer" button arms Melodyne. Play the clip in Waveform, and Melodyne will listen to the track. When done, in the upper left corner, it will guess the key. But as I said, it's rarely correct.

Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Many thanks for the help. I understand that for now Tracktion presents tools for basic DJing. Perhaps adding this function and something that allows you to do automixes (like Dj Studio) would become really powerful for these uses. Although this software is a DAW so not designed to do these things.

I think it's better to use specialised stuff for such purposes. Like ripx. It's not a full-fledged daw, but a mate with minimal knowledge can easily make a Dua Lipa remix there. Personally for my remixes (rarely) it's enough Waveform + some vst plugins for slicing samples, melodyne and a couple of combines like unfilteredaudio triad.AG1970 wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 8:55 am Many thanks for the help. I don't know this program. Thank you for your suggestion...
