WF 12: Chhange step clip grid size?

Windows 10, WF 12 Pro.

Have a step clip. Apparently the end of an active step sends a note off, this cuts off a crash cymbal hit (among other things).

Is there any way to change the grid size fro 16 to 8, or extend a note across multiple steps like a tie?

It's gone from an annoyance to an impediment.

All info greatly appreciated, other options also nice if you have suggestions - just now learning step clips as my foray into DAWless was killed by my bad vision keeping me from seeing the damn labels on the fecking hardware knobs! A magnifying glass during an entire session is not good for creative flow, ffs...

Yes, if you have the correct thing selected (eg. the number at the bottom left of the grid) then the Actions tab or (if it's open) the Controls Panel will allow you to set the step length and the number of steps.

By the way, I recommend that you open the Controls Panel and just keep it open unless you really need the vertical space. The number of useful controls you can find down there is amazing. It used to be a selling feature for Waveform but then I guess someone at TSC got all wet about the idea of seeing a few extra tracks and now us long-term users are getting carpal tunnel telling new users to open it up over and over and over...

I try to keep Controls open when possible, definitely. And thanks for the answer! I knew it had to be hidden somewhere.
