12.5 to 13

I’m a 12.5 pro owner and I’ve been trying out 13 free.
I haven’t noticed missing anything so far which makes me wonder what exactly the pro version of 13 offers that I might actually use?
Clip launcher I don’t care about.
Tracktion plugins I have already.
Instruments I never use.
I only ever really use EZ drummer 3 and sometimes EZ keys. So a little midi, not much.
Is there any reason at all to upgrade?
I’m using 13 free because I assume the engine has been improved over 12.5. Maybe some subtle graphic improvements?

I guess I'm seeing it correctly then. Waveform 13 free is as good as Waveform 13. Only missing instruments that I would never need or use?
If that is true this is the best deal out there! I'm pretty impressed with the DAW overall.

I'm a Pro user, so really can't answer as I don't know what Free offers, and I know the Tracktion website has been redone so I don't know where to point you for this, but...
Yes: the Pro version comes with a ton of plugins, synths, accessories, loops, etc.
Free, however, does not limit you in terms of what plugins you can or can't use, has an unlimited number of tracks, and basically allows you all the flexibility of the Pro version. With Free, you can always add the missing components over time, too, as your needs change.

Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Just checking to see if I'm missing something.
I have 12.5 pro, trying out 13 to see if the engine is better or if there are any other improvements.
It would seem in my case that there is no reason to upgrade.

I definitely prefer 13 over 12.5...and much more over 12.
If Free has everything you need, stay there! If not, there's more you can add to Free later at minimal cost

12 was very buggy and glitchy for me and I went back to v11 for a while. 12.5 fixed those bugs and glitches.
However, 13 is better than 12.5, in terms of stability and workflow. I really enjoy it, and haven't even explored some of its new features yet.

The details for the expansions would indicate what features or functions are disabled or missing in W13 Free compared to Pro:

This is good to hear. I took a chance and upgraded to W13 without demoing after I received the 50% off email.Watchful wrote: Thu Jun 13, 2024 12:52 pm However, 13 is better than 12.5, in terms of stability and workflow. I really enjoy it, and haven't even explored some of its new features yet.

Groove Doctor is missing from the free version. Not sure what else...
Keep in mind, if you're running a trial, you may be using the Pro version and not realize it until the time is up.
