..or do you have to copy all the clips over clip and then reload all the required plugins and reconfigure their settings? Thank you.

A good question and I expect you'll get an answer soon.

If the new project is going to use a lot from your existing project, perhaps you could create a new edit within the current project instead.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

If you copy the necessary tracks (literally Ctrl+C or through the menu), and place (Ctrl+V) them in a new project, then all plugin settings, automation, clips, midi, etc., everything will be transferred to the new project.

You can create a new project, have them open side by side and copy and paste whatever from one to the other. Caution: you'll need to double check this for yourself first, but in W12 I tried this once, and I'm pretty sure I found that the audio clips, being copied, still referenced the files in project A, as opposed to being imported into project B. My memory is hazy but I had some annoyance where I deleted or edited something in one and it affected the other.

You can create an Archive of project 1, then import (unpack) that Archive into project 2.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

That seems to have worked! Thank you so much, Pough! :tu: Now that you've kindly made me aware of archiving, I'll Archive all my projects! It seems like the best way to safeguard them, isn' it? I'm hoping that the archive also includes all the clips, and not just a reference to where they were located. If so, it'll be a great solution to the dreaded "file not found" that I often see where clips should be, when I open old projects. (Anyone agree?)

That could be a very interesting feature request:
  • "allow on any project to select another project and through a dialog window select which tracks o plugins you would like to import from the selected project onto my current open project."
