I'm not going to look it up now, but as can I remember (there was a forum post about it) that the .clap support was one developer's pet project, so there's no company behind itkae wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 5:54 am I haven't really checked up on CLAP. I've just assumed it's still so new that there isn't much benefit yet compared to VST3. What are the advantages of using CLAP versions, if any?

It is about 10x faster than VST3 adoption was.mdx4ever wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 6:19 amPS: It's not new anymore but adoption of it is painfully slow![]()

So they did take my suggestion for iLok free UVI stuff. It only makes sense. They always update when I'm in the middle of a project.

The advantage is that Steinberg or anybody else can’t unilaterally decide that no one gets to use the format anymorekae wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 5:54 am I haven't really checked up on CLAP. An open standard is not the same as open source software. This is something that was developed by two companies which both offer closed-source products. My understanding is that from a developer standpoint CLAP is much more modern and easier to work with than VST3. There are also a lot of interesting possibilities for user-facing features that are currently only supported by Bitwig and U-He.Tiles wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 9:12 am The "open" part is what worries me. Open source software is in general open. And nearly always the weaker competition. But let's see how it goes![]()

Always grateful for the free updates. I like the new Chord Progression tool but does anyone know how we unlink notes from each other after a progression has been sent to the Piano Roll? For example to change the lengths and start times of individual notes. Now editing one note edits them all. Hopefully I'm just missing something obvious.
Sadly FLS still suffers from a glaring weakness for the way I work and at this point in time it's obvious that it will never be fixed. The handling of Afterthouch, Mod Wheel, and Pitch Bend data remains stuck in medieval times.
Luckily Waveform Pro fills my needs so FLS has become a secondary DAW getting less and less usage as time goes on.

Tell that the makers of Collada for example. As told, i hope they prove me wrong ^^Greenstorm33 wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 3:24 pmAn open standard is not the same as open source software. I mean Collada is just one example. gLTF is open and seems to gaining adoption. USD is an open standard and is heavily used in the CG industry. A lot of commercial sound and loop libraries come in FLAC format which is an open format. There are a lot o examples of open standards/formats being successful in the market.Tiles wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 4:10 pmTell that the makers of Collada for example. There was a lot reasons why Collada failed I don’t think it had to do with it being open. It just wasn’t as good as the commercial alternative and imo was overly complex for the task. It is in general pretty terrible. gLTF fixes some of the issues that Collada has.

Just wait until Steinberg release VST 4XsuperdupernewfeaturesthatalreadyworkedinVST2in everyotherhost, lets see how quickly CLAP is ignored then.EvilDragon wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 1:27 pmIt is about 10x faster than VST3 adoption was.mdx4ever wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 6:19 amPS: It's not new anymore but adoption of it is painfully slow![]()

The notes are just automatically grouped so all you have to do is going into the PR menu to ungroup or hit ALT+GTeksonik wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 3:52 pm ...I like the new Chord Progression tool but does anyone know how we unlink notes from each other after a progression has been sent to the Piano Roll? .
keyboard shortcuts seem finally to start and expanded for future... finally...
still missing ghost note options to have displayed in all patterns
clap is nice but not much useful in fl studio
always great to see it grow, since cloud integration and new browser the browser got laggy.
