Was thinking of this also, have never connected my audio computer to the net. Without an offline installer I can never update any melda plugins past v16. Like mevla I wonder what will happen running on Linux?Held wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 4:29 pm However, this makes it difficult to save backups of previous installers if you need them. Will there still be a way to get an installer for offline installation/archiving?
v17 beta : Regular install still possible ?

Melda could you please continue to provide the usual offline installer?
This is important for many people, and crucial for me.
Thanks

Depending on your email client, it can be, as it was the case here, that only the name ' Martin Linduška' will appear. The subject line is "17.00 beta". In other words nothing that squarely says 'this is from Melda Production'.Fannon wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 4:50 am Just checked mails and I didn't find anything about beta. But maybe a "phased rollout" and some just got drawn to get a preview?

The basic question would be, why change something that works good in 2024 considering the following factors :
- how many (potential) customers are actually accessing the internet at speeds worthy of a 9600 bps modem and thus in dire need to have the breakdown of a single file into many selectable components ? What is the percentage of these (potential) customers ?
- how many (potential) customers are operating DAW workstations with a hard disk capacity worthy of circa 1995 era ? What is the percentage of these (potential) customers ?
- is Melda Production aiming at accessing 3rd world country markets where internet access could be extremely slow and expensive ? If so, please refine the Linux support and make it official as it can be useful for people running on pre-2000 hardware and storage capacities.

No harm done. I found it offensive qualifying me of a untrustworthy person able to break a contract (beta group membership) agreement but decided to not make a case out of it. Only a little, reflective of the reply, mention.
My concern was to be able to test the beta apps without the new online downloader and before an offline alternative is made available.

The vst3 versions in Cubase 13 Pro are also broken and online activation is not possible as the installer asks me to log in first but I am logged in already.gacleite wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2024 8:16 amCan confirm this, doesnt work on Mac with SonomaSampleconstruct wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 3:04 pm Version 17 does not work on Macbook Pro Max (M3) with Sonoma 14.5, the interfaces don't load, spinning beach balls everywhere and warning messages. This was a permission issue, I manually had to set permissions to Admin for the folder Library/Application Support/Melda ProductionSampleconstruct wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2024 2:02 pmThe vst3 versions in Cubase 13 Pro are also broken and online activation is not possible as the installer asks me to log in first but I am logged in already.gacleite wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2024 8:16 amCan confirm this, doesnt work on Mac with SonomaSampleconstruct wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 3:04 pm Version 17 does not work on Macbook Pro Max (M3) with Sonoma 14.5, the interfaces don't load, spinning beach balls everywhere and warning messages. After that the interfaces loaded fine but I'm not getting any sound out of e.g. MSoundFactory.

Fixing the permissions also fixed the problem in Logicgacleite wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2024 8:16 amCan confirm this, doesnt work on Mac with SonomaSampleconstruct wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 3:04 pm Version 17 does not work on Macbook Pro Max (M3) with Sonoma 14.5, the interfaces don't load, spinning beach balls everywhere and warning messages. ...but there is a problem in the MXXX preset browser (Active Presets, not devices), I only see e.g. one preset in a folder which contains 30 presets.

Sampleconstruct: Martin is investigating it, hopefully he'll figure it out soon. It all seems working on all computers here.
Mevla: There are several reasons
- Many newcomers were baffled by setup + downloader + activation in plugin
- Many people don't have a fast internet
- Automatic updates
- Easy adding/removing plugins
- Optimizing what needs to be installed
- Implementation for FL Cloud
