Hello Folks,
It has been a while since our last major update. We have been working hard, and today we are introducing all plugins on version 17.00 (beta). There have been numerous improvements, such as new MSoundFactory instruments and modules, interesting presets for MTurboDelay, and many other new features.
We have also made extensive internal improvements, stability enhancements, and fixes based on valuable customer reports. You can find the full list of changes below.
One of the major changes is the new installation process for Melda Plugins. Everything is installed using MPluginManager, a small application responsible for the installation of all plugins and instruments. MPluginManager is an extension of the previous MDownloader, which you may be familiar with, and it can also be launched from any Melda plugin. MPluginManager works internally with packages that are highly optimized similarly to Unix system packages. As a result, it requires less disk space and faster downloads compared to its predecessor, installing only the necessary files.
MPluginManager detects older installations and, if present, provides uninstallation.
MPluginManager supports self-updates; once installed, it will update everything (including itself) automatically, eliminating the need for manual downloads.
You can download MPluginManager here: https://www.meldaproduction.com/downloads There is also a walkthrough video available on how to install the plugins and addons:
Important notes:
MPluginManager is currently in beta mode and supports online installation only. For those without an internet connection, an full offline mode for this installer will be available soon, in about a week or two.
You can currently offline install addons for MSoundFactory and MDrummer from MPluginManager, and you can also offline activate your license or subscription from the existing license manager. The license manager can be launched from any plugin like before.
For those who need to downgrade from v17 back to, for example, the latest stable v16.11, you can do this, but you have to download the new 16.11 installer from here:
https://www.meldaproduction.com/downloads
Do not use the older 16.11 installation; we have uploaded the v16.11 installer which can be installed over v17 today => you have to re-download it.
In case some features in v17 are not working as expected, do not hesitate to contact our customer support.

Two bugs for you:
1. In Multi-mode device (MChorusMB) the solo button of the A chorus doesn't work.
2. The Chorus in Minimono (MSoundfactory) doesn't work as intended. The error is in multiparameters related to it.
cheers

Hey, I found and fixed the bug with Mino-mono. good catch, thanks for reporting this
.
However, I checked the solo button in MChorusMB and it works perfectly. Could you check that one again, please? Maybe make a small recording of the behaviour, if you can.

Thanks for the update, Melda Team. Since you have given us new instrument presets for the EQ Areas feature, I submitted my Barks preset to the Online Exchange. I would export and upload it here but I don't know how.
Barks (Critical Bands) are how our hearing is physically divided into bands. If you can think of how the musical interval of a minor second "rubs" or how two strings rub when tuning a guitar then you're experiencing the phenomenon of your barks trying to resolve two distinct frequencies within one bark. I believe using this scale is useful for determining how to slot instruments together when mixing.

This issue looks like duplication in your data. Probably you had something there from the past. I suggest you delete these files:
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\MeldaProduction\MTurboAmpDevices\Bass\.Kraken (delete this folder completely)
and in the folder C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\MeldaProduction\MTurboAmpDevices\Bass delete files
Kraken.mAmp
Kraken.presets
Kraken.xml
Kraken.mAmp.jpg
Possibly any other files with name Kraken... The same files and folder delete here to be sure (same like in above):
C:\ProgramData\MeldaProduction\MTurboAmpDevices\Bass
Then run MPluginManager and click button repair installation, this should recover only the right files for Kraken.
Hope it resolves your issue.

I really can not see the same settings as you have shown here.ggio77 wrote: Mon Jul 01, 2024 3:24 pm Dear JMG, I've just checked again and it doesn't work. Here is what I found out:

Could you please make a short video? Open the plugin and show the MP settings. Maybe I will spot something. Thanks

Thank you, I checked the videos. The solo button is working.
The spectrum separation type is splitting noise and tone. Depending on your source audio there may not be much content in either. Try solo A again then move the separation knob to adjust how much signal is in each band. You should hear the sound coming through A now.

The issue with the entire wavetable library being loaded into memory when opening the presets in the wavetable module is still there. So a single wavetable module uses ~2GB of RAM for 1 wavetable just because my wavetable library is huge. It was discussed in this thread, but hasn't got a fix yet - viewtopic.php?t=603548

Since Melda is increasingly inspired by UNIX-like operating systems, does that mean Linux support is around the corner?

I am not sure if this is the right place to post or if I should make separate topics for each bug.
These are my experiences with v17beta. Maybe it's helpful. In general, I like the new installer very much! Especially that it knows what I already have
Some bugs.
- after I uninstalled Monastary Piano and tried to install it again I run into permission troubles. After I returned to version 16 I could install it again.
- I was unable to paste my serial number for license activation
- in Logic Pro after choosing a sample from Sampler within MSoundFactory from an external SSD, Logic crashes and recovers. No crash in Cubase. Actually this does now also happens with version 16 in Logic. Maybe related to the permission problem.
Attached two screenshots about these problems.
