The problem is that not so many people are interested in trying betas and release candidates. So when it seems that the build is stable and released, then the majority jumps in and all the unnoticed bugs are coming in. Sucks, but that's the reality. I guess they are always trying to renew the old code wher it's possible.Teksonik wrote: Tue Jul 02, 2024 12:48 pmI remember being on the Image-Line Alpha team. It exists to make sure FLS releases are not sloppy.Trancit wrote: Tue Jul 02, 2024 8:16 am But perhaps you remember as well that previous FLS updates didn´t contain so many deep changes at so many places in the programm and an error message of the script in a special situation doesn´t really qualify to make the whole release "sloppy".
Perhaps you have chosen not to read the Image-Line forums. It's not about the report I made but about different reports by other users that causes me to call this release sloppy.
You can make all the excuses you want but they're just that....excuses. Of course there will always be issues with software. But there is a big difference between an Alpha or Beta version and a release version. Or at least there should be.
Bringing up another DAW is simply deflection. Just because Company B makes an error it does not absolve Company A from their mistakes.
Any any rate FL Studio 24 was rushed to release. There should have been more Release Candidates first. If you claim "deep changes" that simply reinforces this fact. More changes require more testing. That should be painfully obvious.
FL Studio 2024.1 available... hehehe

Just a thought.. what if Image-Line would go the Reason Studio route and did something like Reason Rack Plugin?
Just a tiny host for the plugins like Harmor etc... without having to have the complete host loaded?
Nobody wants to have complete FL loaded as a plugin just to use one of the synths
Ditch the buggy plugin version of FL in favor of something like that

I don't think current-era Image-Line really want to encourage people to use their own plugins inside other DAWs, period.sQeetz wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 7:30 am Just a thought.. what if Image-Line would go the Reason Studio route and did something like Reason Rack Plugin?

It seems, they would much prefer to attract more new customers to use Image-Line plugins within FL Studio itself. At least, that's the vibe I get from them.
And you can't really blame them for that.

nothing more to add... was just a thought from someone owning licenses for close to every IL plugin before 2019.. unable to use them besides using FL what I don't really want to do

btw: ditch development for FL plugin entirely. Nobody uses it, and it is (always was) buggy AF.
No-one will notice.
It's just an item one always has to delete right away from the favorites plugin list.
Do it right or don't do it at all

They have released beta updates for some of them (Maxx Plugins) which are vst3/au and Apple Silicon compatible, but nothing since then.MrJubbly wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 8:08 amI don't think current-era Image-Line really want to encourage people to use their own plugins inside other DAWs, period.sQeetz wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 7:30 am Just a thought.. what if Image-Line would go the Reason Studio route and did something like Reason Rack Plugin?

The real problem I've seen even when on the Alpha team is people take the time to post detailed bug reports with screenshots, steps to reproduce, etc and then often times those posts get ignored. You have no idea if the developers saw the post or if it was missed or what. That's why I quit the alpha team, it was a waste of time. I've had to post issues multiple times on the main forums because they were ignored and they still exist to this day.Igro wrote: Fri Jul 05, 2024 9:53 pm The problem is that not so many people are interested in trying betas and release candidates. "But there are so many posts they can't read them all"....well I have read them all and it's not my job to do so....
I don't mind testing Betas and RCs on this system but I don't install them on my studio system. That keeps it from being bloated with one Beta or RC after another and ensures it's always running the latest (hopefully stable) release version.
That strategy has always worked very well but this release is the exception. I simply feel it was rushed to release status.

So far, the chord tool is a guaranteed crash on Windows 10... (in my case)

yeah FL20 and FL21 are the most stable builds for me now. i had also paused with music for some months because i got so frustrated by FL Studio's crashes with FL8-11. so i wont start with FL24 now and have constant crashes again with plugins which worked before. reading that fabfilter plugins crashed which i use always was a bummer...Teksonik wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 3:01 pmThe real problem I've seen even when on the Alpha team is people take the time to post detailed bug reports with screenshots, steps to reproduce, etc and then often times those posts get ignored. i dunno about other DAWs sadly so i cannot judge but afaik Ableton, Studio one and Bitwig are far more stable?
and there is always the "FL Studio's code is so old and needs to be written blabla" yeah i understand but as a user and customer i dont much care, i can wait some months but not another 10 years, who know what happens until then.
sadly the piano roll in other daws still dont inspire me, i dunno what it is...

FL Studio was always stable for me as well, but the Chord tool is giving me hard time on W10. In order to avoid crashes I need to be careful using its features by clicking and making choices very slowly…

hmmm good to read from you guys, i will wait until some bugfixes are done and then might install it. i cannot miss the Audio Fade option anymore from FL21 ;D so i mostly use FL21 now. which seems to be as stable as FL20 so far.
