"show default plugin" greyed out in menu for racks

i use Poise drum machine and always wrap it to a rack so i can individual out the 16 pads each to their own track. sometimes when i click the rack icon in the track output panel, it automatically brings up the rack editor. usually i can right click the icon and select "Select Rack view to use ->" option where it brings up a submenu. Then i can select "Show default plugin" and then when i go back and click the icon, it brings up Poise directly. But sometimes, this option is greyed out. So then it brings up the rack editor every time i want to just bring up Poise. to add to this, sometimes it brings up 2 or 3 rack editor windows. why does this happen? can it be fixed or is it a bug?
