Hello everybody. Is there anyone out there who can explain how to send midi notes from MUdrum to KICKSTART 2 VST to control a bass line for example? I would be infinitely grateful.

Unless Im misunderstanding something, you cant. MUdrum as Im seeing it doesnt send MIDI... It has an Event Input, but no Event Output, so you'd typically be sending it MIDI notes.
Can you explain what you're trying to do, why you cant just use the sequencer or a keyboard or whatever and control the VST directly?
If what you want is the pads of MUdrum sending MIDI, a quick test would indicate you can quite easily make a modified version of MUdrum with the pads wired to an Event Output, and that should do it.

An idiot on Set Theory:

Sorry, I didn't explain well.
I want to use the KICKSTART 2 VST plugin for sidechain ducking.
There are explanations for all DAW, but not for MULAB:

I want to control KICKSTART 2 via MIDI not audio. But KICKDRUM 2 always says "no midi notes detected". How can I set the MIDI routing in MULAB correctly?

Might be using wrong Mu terms here but:
Have you created a track with MIDI in it for controlling KS2? If so, you can then send it to KS2 by right-clicking on the track name (ie where M/S toggles are) and using Choose Target Module, and 'navigating' through a hierarchy of the project structure to the right rack and then Kickstarter 2 itself. The track name should then basically give you the name of the device you set.
KS2 should have MIDI enabled, and from 'Show MIDI Setup' in the plugin, you can finesse what its responding to if you want to. You definitely want 'Direct From DAW' for the port.

YES!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! That was exactly what I wanted to know. Now the MIDI signal is routed to the KICKSTART 2. But unfortunately I can't hear the drums now. Do I have to copy the track or is there a way to route into the KICKSTART and hear the drums at the same time?

Are you trying to use the drum track MIDI to drive KS2 and still drive the drums? If that's the case I think each MIDI track can only target one thing, so I think you'll need to duplicate the MIDI track, send one copy to KS2, the other to the drums...

Fun things with a modular composer...
* Make sure you've a couple of _racks_ set up in the Composer
* Open the Composer modular area and add a patch point (right-click, Add Module, MuTools, Modules, Utilities, Patch Point)
* Wire the Patch Point outputs to the two rack inputs
* For the side-chain control, you may need to wire the output of one rack to the other - this is the bit I can't remember...
* Add a track in the Composer and set its target module to the Patch Point
* Add a MIDI sequence to the track
The MIDI sequence should go through to both racks that way.

Many thanks to both of you. I will try it out at the weekend.
