Beyond that most users of Protools and DAWs don't really use MIDI at all, they use it like a multi track tape recorder and record things like guitars, acoustic drums, and vocals, and then use it a mix down toolmothra wrote: Thu Jul 11, 2024 6:34 pmWow they sampled a whopping 6600 users across the entire world, not to mention they used to be a PT catering site in the past, and are only going to get the geeks who have enough free time to sit and fill out web polls, not the folks that don't bother with the internet that are busy getting their work done.SLiC wrote: Thu Jul 11, 2024 2:35 pm Cubase may be great for some (I dislike it) and may be an MPE alternative for HALion is some respects, but Cubase is used by less than 10% of DAW users* so HALion needs MPE support for the other 90%+ of users...

If they use MIDI at all its pretty basic stuff, note on and off, maybe pitch bend, or basic CC control of things like filter sweeps
What they don't do is complex deep sequencing of MIDI data with polyphonic note expressions either with basic MPE or VST Note Expressions
Most electronic musicians don't use it either
So market share of all DAWs used all ways is rather pointless
