Zebra HZ is far more feature rich and therefore has a wider range of sounds. But of course The Legend HZ has its own character.

Even though they share the HZ in their names they really are two different synths.

I would say this is a case where owning both would make perfect sense or if the individual can only justify the purchase of one choosing which speaks to them better sonically.

ZebraHZ isn't a minimoog clone.

As for vice versa, too much to even list. Totally different beasts.

I thought the UAD moog sounded very much like a real moog.

This legend HZ sounds more like a mood that's been recorded well and has nice FX applied. The sum of its parts is really very good.

I very much doubt they are cheap...!

Personally I think it's great he's pushed some small software instrument to make better products that they, and we, can benefit from. Afaik he's not even out there trying to get a cut from it.
