White noise with harmonic filters fed into a chorus or shimmer reverb for backfround textures. For something more present I like to toy around with drawable synths or import non-audio files into audio editors.

Some resonant bandpass filters into a frequency shifter is a good combo. Using the output of that as a PM modulation source is a good move too.

Any clicky sound into a giant reverb > compression (over the top) > a nice modulation effect > into a resonant filter for direct control of the bandwidth of the sound.

I have a few Melda MXXX setups that will turn pretty much anything into a cool semi pitched transition effect.

As both machines are right in front of my desk, I use my CircuitMonoStation and my BassStation2 for elements like long noise swells, hits, swooshes or sequences. Their signal flow is in series and the results are often interesting enough. Plus I can turn on some knobs while recording which gives them a bit of 'human shape'. For further effects I like to use HY-Filter.
