Then, separate outputs to redirect to other effects or auxiliaries, different Layers _
One thing you can do (not as good as a Solo button though) is map each of the Mod Layer Volume knobs to buttons on your MIDI keyboard so you can switch them on and off from there.

I just noticed that after I installed the latest version (1.3.7) of Wavestate today (from the Korg Software Pass) it says it isn't even installed on my PC. :?

Wavestate works great, but it's just weird the KSP thinks it isn't installed.
Wasn't that a known issue from a while back?

Hello Korg, can you please update Wavestate Native.
The 64 voice are not enough on complex patches.
Also the new factory performances from MKII are still missing in the plugin no patch has aftertouch.
Why haven't you done that yet ? CPU Power problems with 120 Voices ?

I was thinking about getting the hw. Would you say that there is little point when I have the sw?
Except for offloading the cpu that is

Actually, im planning to get the Desktop version later on.

Its great fun to have the hands on control , cant beat tactile feedback.
It's more immediate and intuitive.... Really putS you in another mindset.

Computer screens (and mouse) are not fun, but useful.

I just need a smaller footprint .

:)

Yeah, I think I'd go for the desktop version too

I would get the Native versions over the hardware. In fact this is exactly what I did. The hardware is... not robust, at least the first versions were not, they may have improved with the second version. I was actually interested in a Modwave and then after looking in to build quality I went with Modwave Native instead.

I know someone with an OpSix and while he adores it he confirms the build quality is not great.

Depends what you do with your gear. I don't find those Korgs poor build quality for studio use at all, had my OPSix & Wavestate for a couple of years and they still look as new. They're light for sure, made of plastic but then so are many other synths. In fact the lightness can be seen as a pro not a con - useful for lugging around and I've been known to use it on my knee upstairs when it's too cold to go into the studio, or I can't be arsed. Definitely don't want to do that with a UBXa, it'd probably wreck my knees :hihi:.

As for hw vs sw - I still can't decide. TBH I patch new sounds on native, which is definitely far easier than on the hw. But as mentioned the hw is great for noodling on and playing, as the knobs invite you in to tweak what you've got. I don't regret buying the hw at all, but I program on it an awful lot less than I planned to - that little screen is not as good as it could be.

Do you have the first or second gen? I am looking in to it a bit more (didn't want to just drop that there without digging in a bit) and what it sounds like to me is the initial rev had many issues around QC - if you got a good one you were fine, but a lot of people didn't - and the second gen ones were much better.

I have nothing against light synths, I would just want one where all the knobs and joystick work :)

I was pretty tempted last year because I think the Modwave and Wavestate are two of the most innovative new synths in a long time. As it is, I am happy with Native though, it's excellent.

Some new FM sound... Opsix Arctic Shimmer for the KORG Opsix with some extreme modulations:

Demo song: using around 50 instances of Opsix Native VST3 in Cubase Pro 13 Win. Yeah.. it has some bugs.. but overall it works.

Individual morphing sequences: Single presets modulated, some of them appears in the demo song as well

Wish Opsix was true multitimbral (with 6 operators per sound) but otherwise, it's still top tier for FM sounds.
<list your stupid gear here>
