I recently got Traction and i am loving it!! Im kinda new to this digital recording stuff, and its so easy to use!!
One problem... Im getting some audio glitching during playback. No other programs running. No filters in the edit. It just drops out for a second during playback and keeps going. I cant even get thru a take without this hapenning at least once or twice. This makes it extremely difficult to record overdubs.
What could be causing this?
Would Realtime Priority Mode help?
If so, the Traction help says I can find Realtime Priority Mode in the Audio Devices section of the Settings screen. But its not there in my Traction. Could it be that I got an old version? I just got it about a month ago from mackie.com. Its Version 1.6.0.1 Im running it in mac OSX 10.3.7.
Any help or input would be awesome. :help:

Real time priority is a Window thing, I don't think it applies to Mac.
Maybe some Mac users will jump in at some point, but so to make troobleshooting easier, are you playing soft synth or hardware synth or audio only, or a mixture of all the above; if so how many track? What's the CPU meter at? Is there such a thing as ASIO on a Mac, and if so, how many samples is the buffer set at?

Im recording audio only. Guitars, bass, drums, etc.
Im using anywhere from 5 to 15 tracks. Sometimes more.
The CPU meter is at about 10 %. I have seen it go red when the glitch happens. But Im not sure if its every time.
Im 99% positive theres no ASIO on mac. If there is, my mac doesnt have it.
The glitches happen during playback recording(overdubs). Rarely during regular playback.
Any Ideas?

OSX uses core audio which is part of the OS so there's no need for asio drivers. This might be a latency issue. What are you using to get audio into your mac? There should be manager software that came with your sound card that allows you to adjust the latency; more latency is easier on the cpu. I use the US-428, with it came a utility called US-428 manager; it is here that I can adjust the latency setting.

Hope this helps :)

Well, whatever the problem is, have you tried freezing tracks you are somewhat finished editing? this can take a great load off the CPU.
