Yes ! And I hope Korg is going to update the Odyssey which such a great quality !Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Jul 19, 2024 1:16 pmDan, that's the best marketing blurb for a plugin I've ever seen from Korg. Exactly the kind of thing we should be hearing from big players like Korg when they model one of their classic synths.danatkorg wrote: Fri Jul 19, 2024 6:32 amIt's absolutely a heavy plug-in. That's the price for doing a real model of the 2600, with all of its saturating opamps and idiosyncratic modules. Even the envelopes are computationally expensive. Hopefully you'll find that the quality is worth the CPU cycles! For those who are having problems with authorizing the ARP 2600, there is a new version (1.2.17) of KORG Software Pass fixing the error.

It's weird...
Tryng to upgrade from 4 to 5...
Adding "KORG Collection 5 - Upgrade for KORG Collection 4" with a price of $399 to my cart. I would prefer this to be $99 as it's supposed to be the upgrade but guessing applying the upgrade code in Korg ID is supposed to change it. But when I apply it nothing happens to the price (it confirms it's a valid code for that product). I even tried to process it all the way to confirmation of order and price still at $399.

What CPU, memory, and operating system do you have in your computer?aMUSEd wrote: Sun Jul 21, 2024 6:08 pmIt's using very little on my system and I'm running at 4x oversamplingtheoryzero wrote: Sun Jul 21, 2024 6:07 pmThat's a good observation. I ask, because I need to upgrade my old computer eventually, and I need to figure out what level of hardware I need for the more intensive plugins on the market.
I'm involved with photography & audio. For more info, take a look at my site:

It's a M1 Max Mac Studio with 64 GB system memory, 2TB SDD
Bear in mind I'm pretty much always using single instances @48hz 128 buffer

Try upping the polyphony. I have the same specs as you and that uses up about 80% when set to 16 voices at 4x oversamplingaMUSEd wrote: Wed Jul 24, 2024 10:53 pm It's a M1 Max Mac Studio with 64 GB system memory, 2TB SDD

Now after using it for a while, I need to add a bit to my initial impressions.
At first I thought, "well, I just hope it sounds better than the Arturia one because technology has obiously advanced in the last 20 years".
I must say this synth far exceeded my expectations. The Korg team did WAY more than just give us a good-sounding emulation, which would be expected of any serious manufacturer nowadays.
This is one of the most detailed emulations of analog hardware I have ever seen.
The modeling is extensive: The quirks and little idiosyncrasies of the thing (e.g. saw into saw & the gated AR envelope) are there, and the multiple ways of using the different modules together, along with the tweakability via the trim pots, combine to bring this synth alive. You can see they went the extra mile to model it. The other emus I've tested (the CA one & the Arturia) do not come near this level of detail.
I haven't even mentioned the enhancements: The superb built-effects and the benefits of being able to play patches polyphonically, and all the added modules like the SEM-style filter, advanced ADSR envelope and the additional LFO which take this 50 year old synth into the 21st century. Its all a bit overwhelming when you think of it. I can see myself spending a lot of time with this synth.
I'm just a lowly hobbyist musician, not affiliated with KORG in any way. But I just felt this needed to be said -- credit where credit is due. I hope this synth gets the recognition it deserves.

I was so excited when I found out about this new update yesterday but, after a couple of hours with the 2600, I am over it. Sure, there are a few nice sounds in there but nothing to justify paying $150 for an upgrade. ModWave, OpSix and WaveState were probably more interesting, just not anything I need. If you can get use out of even a couple of them, it's probably worth it but none of it appeals to me, I'm afraid. If the 2600 had Unison, I might be tempted but it doesn't, so I'm not.
