Hi everyone,

we're almost there. Almost. Just a few more niggles and we are done. For real, this time. We swear. We hope. Or maybe one more ... No, stop it. OK, OK.

We hoped that these would already be RC builds (release candidates), but it's summer, and for some reason developers just leave their job and go on vacation when the sun shines. People are weird.

There are a few tiny issues we still need to address, but we hope to cross the finish line in one or two weeks.

Update August 9, 2024: Summer vacation is over, everyone made it back to work alive. We got a release candidate. Woo-hoo! 8)

Update August 22, 2024: RC2 out now. Just minor cosmetic changes, repositioning the Key Control button.

The main goodies are:

* CLAP support
* native Apple silicon AAX support
* MPE support for polyphonic presets
* key control, for mouseless plugin control

We reworked the MPE setup, it's now just one click away. Please let us know if this solution works better for you.
The GUI resize feature now includes 50% and 60% sizes as well.
Hive's wavetable export via uhm scripting now includes support for Serum wavetables.
Bazille's FX panels now reorder automagically when you rearrange the order of FX slots.

Definitely try the key control feature and let us know how it works for you. There's a separate thread to discuss everything related to this work in progress feature: viewtopic.php?t=611856

And finally, Viktor has been busy fixing Hive factory preset niggles that have been a thorn in his eye:

* Level balancing has been improved
* Some presets were sorted in wrong folders
* Some preset names had to be adjusted
* Preset tags have been adjusted here and there
* Preset descriptions have been improved
* A few presets got additional performance controls assigned

Fixed in RC1, revision 16497:

* Fixed: VST3 synth plugins were showing up as additional mono version in Digital Performer
* Fixed: marking text in preset browser search field could make the text disappear (Windows only)
* a few more minor fixes

The Windows system UI scaling messing with drag & drop import on Windows turned out to be a Bitwig issue.

The framework has undergone extensive changes in the past months, please let us know about anything that feels odd or is not working as expected anymore.

I won't post the complete changelog here; that list would reach from here too the moon. Just posting the most important changes:

* Fixed: some modules not updated on MIDI program change
* Fixed: distortion effect produced aliasing
* Fixed: several undo/redo issues
* Fixed: Izmo skin was missing XY context menu
* Fixed: missing closing quotes in some .uhm wavetables
* Known Issue: XY section: "Ctrl A/B offset" will not work in MPE mode

Framework:

* CLAP support
* Native Apple silicon support for Pro Tools (AAX)
* MPE support for polyphonic presets
* MPE tag added to preset browser
* Key control (experimental feature)
* Added 50% & 60% GUI scaling options
* Linux version now supports MTS-ESP microtuning
* VST2 > VST3 migration support for hosts using the IPluginCompatibility interface
* Fixed: multiple VST3 crashes related to plugin GUI in Digital Performer 11 (was a bug in DP)
* Fixed: VST3 tuning off by half a note in Digital Performer 11 (was a bug in DP)
* Fixed: VST3 produced stuck notes in Digital Performer 11 (was a bug in DP)
* So much more fixed or improved

Known issues:

* Key control feature is WIP on Mac and Windows, and mostly non-existent on Linux
* Key control: Ctrl+C does not copy in Bitwig on Windows

Special Notes:

* This is the last version that includes VST2 support on Mac, Windows and Linux.
* This is the last version including 32-bit support on Windows.

I think that's about it. Have fun and enjoy the summer.

Cheers,
the u-he crew

Looking forward to that making it's way to RePro. Will skins need to be updated to take advantage of this new functionality?

Post

Hello. Thanks 🙏
Btw..any news regarding update for Zebra?

Post

I'm getting distortion on Diva, including the previous version, when I enable Multicore. I'm using the Clap version on Windows 11 using Bitwig 5.2 (it was the same using the Bitwig 5.1 series).

I just installed the VST3 version, and it works as expected, no distortion.

We still have not been able to reproduce this over here, there must be some very special conditions for this to happen. Please contact our support so we can gather some more details.

While I will contact support in my morning, I just wanted to give you something more here. This is most pronounced on BT flex butte seq - preset. Other presets when switched to Multicore, do not show this behavior, though some do, but the first one I just mentioned always produces the distortion.

I've tried this under WASAPI on my Surface Laptop Studio 2, and I've gotten the same results using ASIO on a UA Apollo Twin, using various keyboard options, too.

I mean Zebra 2. I don't installed Zebralette 3 yet. I got Zebra and Zebra HZ. Really waiting the Zebra 3. As was told previously it will be free for owners of both...

That was already very helpful, thanks.
Using this preset, I could reproduce crackling with activated multicore.
This seems to be limited to Bitwig and CLAP on Windows and Linux, no such problem on Mac.
And there is no problem when using Diva's CLAP version in Reaper.

We will investigate this on our side, but please do contact Bitwig support about this, as there is a strong possibility that it's a problem on their side.

Great! Waiting then. BTW I have found the bug in Zebra2. Where I can post it? got the video of this bug as well

Windows installer (for any of the 4 synths) mentions "Deselected components will be uninstalled. Factory files will be replaced with defaults. Are you sure you want to proceed?", regardless of what I select or deselect.

And then when I do proceed, it actually doesn't uninstall things. :)

Post

That's probably because it's more like a "from now on..." as the old installer might not have left an inventory of its doings.
