More than anything, I want to know if intonation is stable.
Moog One is just awful in that regard.
Would also like to know if cooling is active or passive.
Moog One can sound like a prop-plane.

Actually now that its out, its become clear that the box for the Muse specifically says made in Taiwan, with no 'assembled in US' claim. The remaining Asheville claim on the packaging is only "designed and engineered in Asheville".revvy wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2024 5:08 pm “assembled in the US”

I was sharing what that article claimed in bold text but happy to defer to your evidence to the contrary.

I would wait until touching a Muse in store before really deciding on buying one. Although my Spectravox is made well this is a whole new beast.

Unfortunately, the “yes it sounds good” goes counter to everything I’m hearing online. More accurate would be “yes it sounds ok”. Lots of features, decent sound, tolerable price for the package. I’m going to guess there’ll be a lot of used ones on the market in a few months to a year.
This was the first Moog that made me mildly interested (not that I’d buy a synth with keybed, though)… until all the videos came out. Ah well. Lots more choices out there!
Half the cost or so gets you the TEO-5. Spending a bit more gets you the Polybrute 12. Spending about the same but giving up keys gets you the Nina or 3rd Wave desktop.

Does sound lovely. Tons of sweet spots.
Had to stop watching because I don’t have space for one.

Good stuff, thanks. Yes, he is an incredible keyboard player.egbert101 wrote: Fri Aug 02, 2024 3:38 pm Another one, this time someone who can really play a synth.
I watched Matt Johnson review of Moog One long ago and was never impressed what he did there.
Muse is less menu diving to do stuff, as he suggested, and probably help in making it real fun to work with. So this Muse review was really nice.

I think it looks like a really well featured synths. Lots of depth and scope for sure.vitocorleone123 wrote: Fri Aug 02, 2024 3:12 pm Unfortunately, the “yes it sounds good” goes counter to everything I’m hearing online. I don't think it has the phatness and creaminess of a sub 37 or a matriarch though. Maybe it's just the range of the synth is bigger than those, but only a few sounds have seemed to have full mooginess.
I think if judged for what it is it's going to be a good synth with a lot of scope. It's got a lot of competition though.
edit: after hearing some more demos, through proper speakers I've changed my mind and think this does have phatness after all. My guess is the scope is quite big and people play different things in demos.

I played it today against a Subsequent 37, a Minimoog, a Prophet-10, and an OB-X8. It sounds the most like the Subsequent, the character is almost exactly the same.

Something here a Cherry Audio VST synth can't do?
There are two kinds of people in the world. And you're not one of them.

Honestly I would rate Cherry the least analog emulation capable company. I like their digital synths, but the analog emulations are IMO garbage if was you're looking for is something like analog sound. Arturias newer synths and U-He are pretty dammed good though.
