Since Tracktion was my main DAW for so long, I was "pushed" to 3rd party plugins long ago.

Most people that change DAWs are likely to have an established set of plug-ins they've used for ages. There are plenty of free plug-ins around.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

While I think it's odd to start a new conversation specifically about things you're not interested in (hey everybody, I don't like to eat lamb meat!) I wanted to mention there are three levels of plugins that could be described as "Tracktion plugins" and you seem to have chosen the best instead of the worst to criticize. They're also the least Tracktion-y.

There are the built-in plugins that can't be used in other DAWs (very basic) and the external plugins developed only by TSC (the relatively full-featured Essentials) and then there are the plugins developed by external developers that are distributed by Tracktion and at least in some cases also seem to use a plugin framework developed by Tracktion.

I dunno. Dawesome plugins tend to get a lot of love around KvR. They could probably be described as off-beat or niche, but I would argue that "not for me, personally" is far from "booty" unless you're a narcissist. I got a couple of them when they were on sale and I would be tempted by more of them if I was more of a synthesist and less of a bassist.

As someone who started with Tracktion in the early stages when there weren't really any Tracktion plugins, I've always just bought 3rd-party plugins and never needed to consider the built-in or Essentials plugins once they came around.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

The Tracktion daw plugins are pretty average, the third party paid plugins are fantastic if they're what you need.
But tbh I'm happy for the team to keep focused on the main daw and I'll collect my own plugins. Never had too many issues with compatibility and W13 has fixed a bunch of flaws that irked me, so I guess I agree with OP. And let's be honest, if that's the level of complaint, things are going quite nicely. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Switched to third party plugins too. The only thing I lack in Waveform is a good sampler. Like in Bitwig or Live.
