Sonnox Oxford Inflator

Post

I'd stopped using Inflator (Sonnox) because of the aliasing but thanks for the tip on the JS Inflator. It is the same thing with oversampling so may try it again. Thanks.

Installed - JS Inflator , everything went fine

But my macOS , refuses (Ventura ) refuses to pass I thru, and says it might be Malware.
Any idea to what to do?

Do you hear the aliasing in the mix? How much do you push it.
Soft Knees - Live 12, Diva, Omnisphere, Slate Digital VSX, TDR, Kush Audio, U-He, PA, Valhalla, Fuse, Pulsar AUDIO, NI, OekSound etc. on Win11Pro R7950X & RME AiO Pro

Being brutally honest then I'm not sure but I took the decision some time ago not to use any plugins that introduce harmonics and don't have oversampling. I can't say categorically that this has made my mixes better but I don't have the nagging concern that some clutter and muddiness is coming from messy harmonics.

The only exception to this rule is on non melodic instruments like drums. I don't see any harm in having aliasing artefacts on these if it sounds okay.

Did you add these in Terminal?

sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/JS_Inflator.vst3
sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/JS_Inflator.component
sudo codesign --force --sign - /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/JS_Inflator.vst3
sudo codesign --force --sign - /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/JS_Inflator.component

The original developer is still around. Why don't Sonnox update it?

Thanks to those who recommended the JS Inflator plugin and to those who created it.

I really like it, it's great!

I only wish it was also available in CLAP format to help further future-proof it, away from the whims of Steinberg.

Good questions but generally speaking I don't think Sonnox update their plugins much after they're released and any bugs have been ironed out. Shame.

Cant you use boost from ursa dsp if you don't want aliasing? His stuff is super good imo...
