Yeah dude but that’s an A/B of a recorded amp thru a mic.zerocrossing wrote: Tue Aug 06, 2024 5:31 am There is nothing boxy or weak sounding about a good Tonex capture. Not everyone can make a good Tonex capture.
I want a nice big quality live-in-the-room sound.
Live it’d most likely sound like I’m playing a recording of amp ,if u know what I mean.
Plugging digital into an amp limits what the actual amp can do Or going thru a dedicated FRFR speaker or PA it sounds too processed /modern imo.
No issues w it for getting a top guitar tone to record music in a DAW.
Hope that makes sense. Those modellers sound different with a drummer/band in the room basically. Most just kinda sound “fake” to me in that context. Cos it’s a recording of an amp. Like a moving audio ‘photograph’ I guess. Too “square” / “sharp” sounding when turned up and at worst “harsh” (esp the dirty sounds)
Maybe for heavy music they excel ? That music is harsher/ more brutal the better really.
I can’t hear from my comparisons how it sounds that different to older gen digital modellers/MFX.
To me , I may as well buy a $50 NUX unit it’s not that different in tonez yknow?
I’m off to guitar shops tmrw they’ll have one I’ll run thru an amp or PA and test it.
