I assure you, it's coming. With Aspect done the path to completion is a lot clearer. Whilst I am making good progress, I've also been dealing with several hugely stressful situations in my private life, which has absolutely eaten into my work time, so would appreciate just a little more patience.
Architect, the modular MIDI toolkit, beta now available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

I hope all goes well in your personal life , that is something we can not control , so let's hope for the best .colin@loomer wrote: Sun Jul 28, 2024 8:42 am I assure you, it's coming. About the release
In november 2023 you said it was going to be roughly 6 weeks .
It's incrediby sad to see how things are handled over the past years .
I have evolved from being a nr1 fanboy to a 'losing all hope'person .
There will be numerous bugs when ( if at all ) 1.0 will be released , I 've offered help multiple times to test drive the alpha , nothing from your side .
Architect is a fantastic professional midi modular environment , but so is plugdata and at least the community is open and up front about releases .

My feeling is that Colin is working to make Architect a DAW and that is why it is taking so long.
Just a thought.
If so please include ARA.
I would love to see Architect as a DAW that is also a plugin like Mulab and FL Studio.
In any case I hope the happenings in his personal life have improved.

Seems verry unlikely and it would be imho not realistic to compete with any of those .Kalamata Kid wrote: Tue Aug 13, 2024 2:23 pm My feeling is that Colin is working to make Architect a DAW and that is why it is taking so long.

A daw is more then just adding a few audio tracks .
Architect is a midi modular environment , not an audio environment .
Nothing in the current landscape offer the same flexibility except max and pure data .

So…. Does one have to program or script to use this product? That was my impression, and I want to check and be sure…

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

A little programming does help, in the same way it does with say, Reaktor or PureData. The 1.0 release has a library of devices which hugely reduce the programming requirements. You can, for example, right click on a sequencer step and choose "Add Modulator > LFO" and it'll automatically wire it up behind the scenes. If you don't think your programming skills are up to snuff, I'd say sit tight for 1.0 (or just play with the demo, as it doesn't expire.)
(Also, can I say thank you for all the kinds PMs and emails I've had lately. Been a particularly challenging time for us and sometimes a stranger saying something nice goes a long way.)

It's a dataflow program , you don't need to know how to program but you do need to understand the basics of certain modules if you want to build stuff , naming conventions ( strings , lists, variables ), the dissection of a midi message etc ...just like max-pure dataaudiojunkie wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 2:18 am So…. That being said , even with the high level build in sequencers , architect is incredibly easy to use

Not at yet: due to ongoing issues in our personal lives, I've had very little time to dedicate to Architect, but with hope the situation should be changing soon and I'll be getting back to proper active development.

O.K. , that's fair enough
Without going into detail , are the personal problems of such a magnitude that it might halt the release of architect for a considerable time ?
If so ,why not release it as is
I think we as early adopters have the right to know after 5 years .

Is Architect able to host plugins (both instruments and effects) inside a DAW? Specifically, can I load Architect as a plugin in Bitwig and then load other plugins within Architect?
More importantly for me, is Architect able to map the parameters of a loaded plugin like Bidule does, and then randomize or mutate them?
If yes, how well does it handle that? I need precise control over the amount of randomization, ideally with a percentage slider. Additionally, I'd like the ability to exclude all parameters at once that I don’t want affected. Bidule isn't able to do this, so I'm hoping Architect can.

Colin had mentioned that Architect will be able to host plugins.
Is this already implemented?
This may help?
Plugin Modular Environments:
These plugins can host plugins.
Bidule, rock solid. Keep it simple or get real midi-creative.
https://web.archive.org/web/20170926075 ... ts/bidule/
Freestyle https://www.newsonicarts.com/html/freestyle.php
Metaplugin - built in 32-64 bit bridge
https://ddmf.eu/metaplugin-chainer-vst- ... x-wrapper/
Element - https://kushview.net/
Loomer Architect when version 1 is released it will be the most and best midi fx plugin if not so already. https://loomer.co.uk/architect.html
Unify has a modular environment called ComboBox which allows one to route audio and midi as desired. https://www.pluginguru.com/products/unify-standard/
Mulab Plugin has Mux https://www.mutools.com/index.html
FL Studio has Patcher! And if FLS gets the promised ARA integration it will be the only plugin with ARA capability. https://image-line.com/fl-studio-learni ... atcher.htm
Misc:
List of chainers: https://www.kvraudio.com/plugins/plug-in-chainer-rack
Plugin Buddy - Free https://www.modalics.com/products/plugin-buddy-free
Nora, will host VSTi and VST fx. But will it host VSTi midi fx? viewtopic.php?t=425600
BespokeSynth – Is a stand-alone app but wish it was a plugin. Will it host VSTi midi fx? It is free. https://www.bespokesynth.com/

Loomer URL doesn't need the www by the way. The HTTPS cert fails if you include it. Just https://loomer.co.uk/architect.html works.

The current link seems to work just fine in Brave and Chrome.
I changed it to your suggestion just in case others are having an issue also.
